This isn't "reminiscent" of 2008, this is LITERALLY the same type of gambling except actually worse with SPVs being used on a much greater scale: "(data center) asset backed securities" are the same thing as "(subprime) mortgage backed securities"!

I don't think he knowingly got it as a Nazi symbol, but my bet is he found out pretty quick, and his emotional attachment to a certain code of military machismo meant he wouldn't get rid of it
