This is extremely powerful and moving. Every time I think about what was done to these young girls—and I think about it 20x a day—I want to cry, scream, throw things.

And this abuse continues anew every day across the world to countless children—boys, girls, and nonbinary kids—who have no voice.

Ooh, ooh! I think I know this one .......
How have Labour watched the Tories spend 2-3 years parroting Farage then lose an election badly and conclude a similar strategy is the best course of action?

The tough signalling about temporary status/number of renewals is v unlikely to resch the potential asylum seeker (so it is mainly tough signalling to UK voters)

But very few people in Britain would think a review at 18 years of home country safety is as valid or legitimate as at 3-6 years

Patience Wheatcroft, peer +former Sunday Telegraph editor, says action was needed to control asylum

She tells Westminster Hour she finds this 20 year proposal "a bit brutal", worries about the unsettling effect for somebody trying to make a new life as a refugee. Thinks public would prefer 10 years

Glasman and Blue Labour are just Reform UK masquerading as Labour. And they're driving away many proper Labour supporters. It's a disaster.

The dead hand of Farage is all over Brexit and it’s made us all poorer. The idea that he should now be cast as the saviour of an economy he damaged is ridiculous and only fools would let him have a second chance to finish the job.

This is why they’ll convince nobody - the racists know they’re lying, and the appalled Labour voters also know they’re lying.

Show me the achievement here. They’re tanking now. It’s the worst of all worlds.

Fwiw, I believe Labour might have been able to successfully execute a 'mixed' strategy on immigration that reduced the threat from Reform without alienating liberal/left voters it needs. Avoiding rhetoric of the right while letting the numbers fall as they were already doing would have been a start.

For the benefit of any doubt I am joking, but at the same time it’s fairly baffling why *any* Labour politician would want it briefed that they take inspiration from Trump’s mass deportation policies.

In a world without the BBC, how will we know what is true and what is truly haplening in the world?

Our only source of information (misinformatio) will be the billionaire-owned media.

The BBC has been gravely damaged by 14 years of the Tories.

But we desperately need it to be functioning properly
Is the BBC worth saving at this point?

The Labour government has released to the media more details of its asylum reforms - to be released on Monday.

Their premise: UK attracts asylum seekers because it is too generous + reducing pull factors will change that.

There is a lot of overspinning from this govt
