The mayor of Newport, Oregon – a former cop – has been posting hateful content in a law enforcement only Facebook group for years.
For years the mayor of an Oregon Coast city has posted hateful memes on Facebook
Since 2016, Newport Mayor Dean Sawyer has posted racist memes mocking both the trans community and Mexicans. He's also made posts that joked about committing violence against women.

My government taught me a new drink today.
I’m simple.
Margaritas for summer, old fashioneds for winter, French 75s for special occasions. I do variations as well.
I’ll always try new things and have other favorites, but that’s my standard rotation.

Soooo... speaking as an archaeologist (by education and inclination, if no longer occupation)... There are lots of theories about where the "great flood" myths come from. I tend to find the most compelling theory be them being based in the catastrophic flooding of the Black Sea ~9000 years ago.
