Honestly, I'm with GenZ. 20 years ago, I'd have said $100k. 10 years ago I'd have said $200k. But now, I think this system sucks so fucking much that the only possible definition of success is never having to work again. Y'all really wanna play perpetual layoff roulette for $180k?

This. Falling for disinformation isn't necessarily due to a lack of critical thinking, and definitely isn't a sign of low intelligence. It deliberately feeds into primal instincts, which everyone has. Comprehensive research skills and the ability to counteract biases isn't something widely taught.
Yes. But. It's not the sole component. We will override our better natures if something matches our expectations (read: confirms our world view). It's difficult (albeit not impossible) to overcome that lizard-brain reaction.
