BREAKING: Global Economy More Than Just United States.

Main Result of US Picking Trade Fights With Everyone At Once is Other Countries Trading Less With America, More With Each Other. U.S. Weaker, China Stronger.
Chinese exports to the US fell 20%, and China *still* had a record trade surplus.
Exports to other parts of the world grew rapidly: +8.4% to EU, +13.4% to southeast Asia.

Has any reporter done a deep dive into two of the most powerful people in Washington DC who seem determined not to use that power or even comment on current events?

Viewers are rejecting Tony Dokoupil's "CBS Evening News," with the show down 23% in viewers year over year.

"CBS isn’t losing the evening news race, they already lost it," one veteran TV exec told me. Another called the debut a "big whiff."

The Dokoupil Dud
Despite wall-to-wall promotion, Tony Dokoupil’s "CBS Evening News" debut has delivered a ratings dud—and perhaps exposed the limits of Bari Weiss' MAGA-ification of the network.

Of all the competitive authoritarian developments of the past year I think the fall of CBS News is among the most chilling. That this can happen to easily and so quickly freaks me the fuck out.
Nightmarish. CBS News is now running straight state propaganda. They handed Hegseth all three segments and are now tweeting flattering sound bites.

Apparent in Trump Term 1, when he abandoned bipartisan US policy to move the embassy to Jerusalem and cut funding for an E. Jerusalem hospital, among other things.

But American voters didn't think that mattered. Or liked it.
