Those happy for cuts to the BBC, PBS and other public broadcasters should bear in mind what the future could hold for children's programming www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
YouTube Creators Find a New Consumer for AI Slop: Babies
As younger children spend more time on the platform, concern is growing that their brains are being shaped by AI-generated videos purporting to be educational.

The James Bond franchise faces a big problem: me, the viewer, has been shot at the start of the movie through the barrel of my gun, and I'm dripping blood over my own eye balls (they're in the gun)

The fun thing about having a small team working with you is you can say "hey you're spending this week digging for stolen mobile phones in London flowerbeds, I promise you it's a thing". www.londoncentric.media/p/london-pho...
London's thieves are burying phones in flowerbeds
The police don't take much interest in returning the stolen devices when they're dug up — so London Centric decided to do it.

I realised this was the only sustainable system recently.

If we need culture, but have decided it should all be free, and also that we won’t support the creators of it from a central fund, every artist has to apply for their own UBI direct from the public.
Disruptive Business Idea: Instead of hundreds of small business owners and content creators asking me to subscribe to their Patreon, perhaps some central platform (let’s say the government) charges everyone a ‘mega-subscription’ and then pays those people a sort of minimum wage? Could that work?

@seatsixtyone.bsky.social I'm trying to get to Sole Street tomorrow. I wish I had the confidence of the Southeastern app in telling me that, right now, £18.30 is the "cheapest" way of doing so... 😩

Yet another FOI request to TfL asking how much it spends on Pride month events.

Oddly, I never see these questions for Remembrance poppies, or Christmas or any other annual event that TfL gets involved with - only the ones involving the gays.

I’m going tomorrow. Giving blood in the uk is great
1) you collect points for pints and I’m never going to get airline status but dammit I’m getting silver on blood
2) they have club biscuits?
3) Greatest Hits Radio on full volume
4) You get a google map of where your blood goes
5) helping people??
🚨🚨🚨

(Don't usually do this kinda thing BUT)

BLOOD STOCKS ARE CRITICALLY LOW.

If you can, give blood. ❤️

@londonermag.bsky.social I'd tweak this slightly if the screenshot tool wasn't necessarily rectangular, but this is basically central London for me.
