🚨🚨 Guess what, guess what!! 🚨🚨

Our volunteer, Mary Kish, gathered our first signature from Worth County...which means we've officially gotten at least one signature from every single county in Missouri!!

Seems a great time to launch a county spotlight series! Which county should we feature next?

"People are getting free food and they might not deserve it!" who gives a shit man literally one of the unambiguously good things about the 21st century is we have lots of excess food production and we have the capacity to have hunger be significantly less important in decision making.

Are you registered to vote? At your current address? And when is your next election?
People ask what they can do in this moment: here's a crucially important election. There are 52,000 elections taking place next month, many of which will be determined by turnout.
Dispatch from Pennsylvania on a highly unusual state Supreme Court election—one of the few most consequential matters on the ballot anywhere in the country next month. New from me in @boltsmag.org: boltsmag.org/pennsylvania...

STL - gonna try to add sponsors of ABC 30 in a thread here. National news on currently following football.

1. Bommarito Automotive Group
Well, there it is. Sinclair is digging in for a fight, so please help push back -- find stations in your area, watch their local news to see what ads they run, then write those advertisers to tell them you're boycotting as long as they're on a Sinclair station.

we aren’t going to be able to make up for what they’re stealing from people who need it. but setting up a recurring donation—whatever you can afford—to your local food bank is one of the easiest & most effective ways to help people in your community. find one near you:

Like, sometimes what is needed is a decent slideshow for training volunteers - there really are opportunities for whatever your skills are! Sometimes it takes a bit to find it, but don’t give up!
good thread with thoughts about doing something in this chaos

i have been volunteering my time since the election helping at a local community center.

if you, like me, can't handle protests--there are other ways.

find a food bank, community center, someplace that's lost funding. help them out.
The time is now. Right now. Time for literally all of us to push back against fascism.

You don't have to and literally can't do EVERYTHING. Don't worry about that!

Just pick the one or two issues/things you know and care about and join the people who are doing practical things to help.

Self-care is overrated—helping others has the biggest benefits for everyone involved

A new 2-week intervention finds that helping others improves well-being more than "self-kindness", with benefits for depressed mood, anxiety, and loneliness due to social connection psycnet.apa.org/record/2026-...
