Made my St. Jude donation and remembered to fulfill an email promise to @ismh86.net from mid-December of 2024. He refunded me $7 when I converted my Upgrade membership from monthly to annual. I replied that it was unnecessary but I would add that amount to my 2025 donation. Glad I set a reminder!

A large pot sits in plain sight. There’s a frog in it.

Every day, Leader announces his plans to boil the frog. His campaign slogan was “BOIL THAT FROG.”

He has already made at least one run on the stove.

A man stirs the pot with a large stick. “It’s a metaphor,” he says.

In April, President Trump and Salvadoran President Bukele shook hands in the Oval Office to celebrate a deal to ship gang members to the notorious CECOT prison.

But a new ProPublica investigation found there’s more to the story. 🧵👇

Instead of buying the Tapper book, consider donating the amount you would’ve spent to a cancer charity instead.

(And if you’ve been involved in promoting the book, consider a 10000x multiplier of the cover price, for your donation.)

Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back.

This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008.

Also bigger than the 2024 DNC.

And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).

What a coward @schumer.senate.gov is. Definitely not the minority leader for this era. At this point, given what he has enabled by not acting as an opposition leader, the compromise position should be that he steps down from leadership. Personally, I think he should resign from the Senate.
Schumer on CBS claims "one of the Republican senators who knows said to us, 'you'll be in the shutdown for six to nine months until we totally destroy the federal government.' So the shutdown was a much worse alternative."

The root that tears apart your foundation begins as a seed of distrust, hate, and blame.

The seed that grew into a dictatorship in Europe didn’t arrive overnight.

It started with everyday Germans mad about inflation and looking for someone to blame.

We have been careful to avoid using the word coup, but it’s time to call it what it is—this is a coup. Trump signed an executive order granting only the attorney general or the president the authority to interpret laws executed by the executive branch.

JD Vance - If you believe any of the multiple federal courts that have ruled against you so far are exceeding their statutory or Constitutional authority, your recourse is to appeal. You don’t get to rage-quit the Republic just because you are losing. That’s tyranny.

This is not just a musing from a dude with some various ideas. The next step is to hollow out the judiciary and also not follow their rulings, which have been against Musk’s efforts. This is a very obvious coup, for those not paying attention.

This represents no self-awareness, no virtue, no critical thought.

It represents only weakness and division in the left flank of the Trump coalition.

In other words, y’all calling out these ghouls is working. Most fascists lack the courage of their own convictions.
Does the Times regret its contributions to those attacks?

DON'T DO IT.

If they're going to punish you? MAKE THEM PUT IT IN WRITING. ALL OF IT.
