I’m trying to figure out whether the fact that this photo is exactly the kind of thing people want to use “AI" for and it looks like very bad Photoshop is intentional. Is it a dig? Is it supposed to be ironic? Genuinely I do not understand. I assumed at first it was not a real cover.

This two-parter below is exactly why it's hard to make clothes in the United States.

Let's look at how much it costs to produce a button-up shirt in the US. 🧵

I agree. I don’t get it either. My fear is that so many of my fellow Americans ARE that stupid. And it’s getting worse.
I don’t get it.
Does he have something on everyone?
Are some people just existing in a bubble?
Is it that some folk are just stupid?
All of the above?

I am neither male nor in any way associated with the fashion industry, except that I do wear clothes. Regardless, these long threads are so interesting and informative and I wish I knew of someone doing something similar with women’s wear.
Although it's rarely expressed in outright terms, people often use a very simple heuristic when solving fashion problems: they wish to look rich, which is often disguised as "respectable."

I will show you why this rarely leads to good outfits. 🧵

I cannot emphasize enough that the playbook being used against mRNA vaccines (and vaccines in general) is IDENTICAL to the playbook used to restrict voting rights after the 2020 election: actively sow public distrust, then cite the distrust you sowed as an independent reason for your desired policy
Opinion | Jay Bhattacharya: Why the NIH is pivoting away from mRNA vaccines
As a vaccine for broad public use, mRNA technology has failed to earn the public’s trust.

Don’t let the fashion talk fool you: this thread is an incredibly interesting economics lesson.
I found this reply interesting ("Can those foreign companies open shop in the US?")

I don't think Japanese or South Korean menswear can be made in the US. At least, not without losing something. Let's explore why. 🧵

The science and research budget cuts happening now are wanton, senseless arson. Recovery, if it ever happens, will take generations.
