Finally, the breakout member and eventual fan favorite, the youthful con artist SWINDLE.
Swindle is an FMC-XR311 jeep, which fits his toy, for the most part. Even his cannon in vehicle mode matches.

This...kinda stretches the military theme. But he's also really cool! The colors are not realistic, but they're pleasing.

Onsalught is a large flat-bed carrier truck with anti-aircraft guns.

I'm sorry, but this is an untenable and patronizing framework because it creates a situation where all criticism is shouted down to protect journalism. We need to be able to talk about broken systems.
Are other journalists the sole arbiter of what's "good" or do we, as consumers, have any say?

My point is simple. If you want good journalism to survive, you have to support people who are doing good journalism. Whether they work at big, nationally-known outlets or indie platforms. News outlets have always had terrible owners and bad staffers. But they often work alongside great journalists.
It is true that there are many good journalists doing valuable work at places like the NY Times. It's *also* true that there are major systemic issues at these papers, including leadership. You can't fault readers for taking larger institutional problems into account when judging an outlet's work.

For many people, journalism is still a public service and a calling, not just a way to work your way into elite circles. Many of those people have been pushed out of the industry for caring about ethical reporting instead if Google rankings and clicks.
Find THOSE people and support them.

It is true that there are many good journalists doing valuable work at places like the NY Times. It's *also* true that there are major systemic issues at these papers, including leadership. You can't fault readers for taking larger institutional problems into account when judging an outlet's work.
What I know is there are still great journalists - even at elite media outlets - who are doing good work. Adopting a knee-jerk cynicism about all they do abandons those journalists. And it's lazy. And it plays into hands of authoritarians who WANT people to distrust all fact-based journalism.
