I love YouTube but they are killing me with this "Shorts" crap. I don't want it, ever. Not on my laptop, not on my appletv, not on my phone or tablet. Make a separate app or something for f's sake.

Since it looks like we're going through the "liberals who stayed on X/Twitter trying to convince others to go back there," I'll just remind folks I already wrote a long article pointing out how that makes no sense and is, in fact, an incredibly dumb idea.

As a reminder, I’m on the board at Bluesky, which means you should consider me extremely biased, even as this article isn’t really about Bluesky. The writer Jerusalem Demsas wants you to stay on Tw…

lol it’s so genuinely fun seeing Cory take decades of fluency in how these systems are broken and serve it up for a mainstream audiences. Even if you know “enshittification” well, this is worth the watch. And love to @eff.org! youtu.be/d2e-c9SF5nE

Apple Watch keeps telling me what a great job I'm doing, I must be really burning some skull sweat sitting here on the sofa writing code for yet another embedded linux build. I'll try not to overdo it.

A lot of folks know me for one or two posts, and might not know I've created nine (9!) visual explanations of computer science topics, aimed at practitioners.

If you're looking for things to read this Thanksgiving, I think you'll love them.

Computer science is a lot of fun, when explained well. ❤️

The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

I like the AppleTV as a set top box but the remote and overall usability is shit. Like, it works "ok" for me, but hand the remote to an 80 year old that just wants to watch Dateline or FoodTV and you'll be doing tech support every few minutes.

Very excited to offer the internet this novelette about dirtbags, privatization, heavy weather, and a beagle named Henry.
Sure, we all know Buckaroo Banzai's wisdom: "no matter where you go, there you are." In case you'd rather be somewhere else, this week we bring you part 1 of "Here Instead of There" by @matociquala.bsky.social, complete with grade-A cursing! Great for wherever in spacetime you find yourself.
