I LEARNED THE ANSWER TO THIS

Chris's Steakhouse was a New Orleans landmark

Chris Matulich periodically got bored, sold it, waited for the new owner to fail, and bought it back cheap

The sale conditions: Can't move it, can't change the name

He did this six times

Then he sold it to Ruth Fertel
what did ruth mean when she said her steakhouse was "chris"

Takk Spiced Beef Drink Mix (1971-1973): A powdered mix for making a savory, rich, spicy beef-flavored drink. Created by General Mills in response to what they saw as a limited market for hot beverages (coffee, tea, and hot chocolate), seeking to provide more options for consumers

Tactics should not be divorced from intellect. The mil adaptation literature shows the role that org culture plays in identifying + solving tactical problems in combat. Only way force can adapt at scale is when senior leaders incentivize, encourage it; and use their positions to drive change.
The Army is a tactical force and does not think strategically. In fact, it seems to eschew strategic thinking culturally. Became acquainted with a major once when I gave a paper at USAWC once who was a strategist, and it was quite clear his career was not going anywhere. PhD historian.

Baking bread since the 12th century. The oldest bakery in Salzburg, next to the monastery of St Peter's. Dating back to the 12th century and apparently still using the original wood-fired oven. The mill race comes down off the mountain and into the town canal.

Now that the mystery is solved, please enjoy this recipe for what is recognisably a kofte kebab from 1660.
Would anyone like to take a guess at the word before “kebob”? Which predates OED - ms is 1660

Today in 1776, Admiral Lord Howe and General Howe led a masterclass in 18th century British amphibious operations in the East River. It would have been an amazing sight to see, especially the initial bombardment from the frigates to clear the way for the landing along Kip's Bay.

Beverly (1969-2009): An intensely bitter before-dinner drink from Coca-Cola, it was made with grapefruit rind. Primarily sold in Italy, it developed a cult following in the U.S. Can still be found on tap at the Coca-Cola museums and EPCOT in Disney World.
