@trumpflationtrkr.bsky.social today, 500 count generic Acetaminophen: $23. Didn’t it used to be under $10?

Welcome to the Resistance, Tuck?
I don’t know what to do with the emotions this is causing me to feel.

This is an important thread, and paints today’s #tarrifs move in a much darker light.
Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

1/ A 🧵 to explain his plan and how we fight back.

More actions like this. If politicians think they know more about health care than docs or nurses — or cede ground to Republicans’ hatchet job to Medicaid/Care, fill their offices with patients (real or staged).
We’re in DC to see the doctors—aka politicians who think they can dictate our healthcare and take away $ from Medicaid, so @bookersquared.bsky.social teamed up with Abortion AF for an emergency walk-in with Dr. Lawmaker (Senator Schumer). They’re cosplaying doctor, so we’re here for a consult.

@booker.senate.gov’s record-setting filibuster may appear empty political theatre to some. And maybe it is. But combined with Susan Crawford’s win in Wisconsin, I’m taking shots of hopium straight into my veins.

That, in the end, is the whole point of well-crafted theatre.

We expected 2,000 people out in GOP-held Greeley, Colorado.

11,000 people showed up.

Something special is happening, folks. Now is the time to organize in every dimension possible and get to work.

That @aoc.bsky.social, @sanders.senate.gov, and @governorwalz.mn.gov are the only Dems showing real leadership, hosting huge town halls in deep red districts, is both heartening and enraging.

No, you're not dreaming.

Trump has gone and paid the better part of $100,000 for a car he's not yet driven, and which during the course of its production has been the subject of dozens of recalls for issues like seat-belt warning system malfunctions and unexpected speeding and lane changes.

Good morning and Happy Wednesday to everyone who appreciates the fire shown by Rep. Al Green, who was ejected, and DEMs who walked out of last night's ugly trump speech. More should have booed, walked out, or even stayed home.

It's time to get fucking hardcore.

Sad trombone. It would be terrible if this happened more often. Just terrible.

This is the kind of off-the-hook, outside-the-box protest we need from Dems. Not only will it demonstrate how unserious the the Trump-Musk-Johnson clown show is, it will make FOX apoplectic with rage and it’s FUNNY AS HELL (protest is always better when it makes you giggle.)
I'm not going to bug AOC with my answer but I think for State Of The Union the Dems should all dress up like Vampires to confuse Trump, make him distracted the whole time trying to understand it. Also imagine how jealous all the Republicans would be

Today’s spectacularly hubristic self-own was 100% planned in advance, to make a plausibly deniable excuse to not honor an agreement they had no plan of honoring anyway, and to distract from their plan to defy SCOTUS. Or they are remarkably, dumbfounding stupid. Or all three things at once.

I hope Dem’s paid attention to Zelenskyy’s meeting with our clown of a president. He not only stood his ground, but he served tea like an absolute queen.

That is how you do it.

Zelenskyy has the patience of a saint to sit and take this garbage without getting up and walking out or punching these thin-skinned fucknuggets in the face.

None of us can be sure what will “work.” You try multiple things and find your way in. Read some histories of the Civil Rights Movement by those who participated. They were never “sure” of what would work. Some campaigns fizzled out. But persistence, creativity, determination, and focus were key.
