Did you know that A Quiet Universe has an audiobook?

Both the digital version and the audio version are included in this bundle, a package typically costing $10 on its own! It's only $5 more for that and 23 other titles (including several other audiobooks!)

It's hard to overstate the steal :3

Here’s a short script:
“Hello, my name is _____, and I would like to file a complaint. I find it troubling that Mastercard is blocking content on (the platforms you use) and making it difficult for me to make legal purchases. I am going to stop using Mastercard if this isn’t rescinded and fixed."
Maybe we could find out.

Mastercard (US): 1-800-627-8372
Mastercard (Int.): +1-636-722-7111
Visa (US + Can): 1 800 847 2911
Visa (AUS): 1 800 125 440
PayPal: +44-0203-901-7000
Collective Shout, the group that took credit for bullying Mastercard into recently censoring more platforms, stated that apparently it took them ~1000 phonecalls to convince them to give them what they wanted?

We got like way more people than that don't we?

A billionaire just sunk billions of dollars of OUR public money into trying to prove this hypothesis and accidentally demonstrated the opposite.

Public spending is prudent, efficient, and necessary. It has an amazing return on investment.
You may not like it, but humans respond to incentives—and money is a big one. If you mess with an incentive, you’ll get fewer things that change the world for the better. Especially when considering the state is really, REALLY good at one thing: wasting money.

Just want to be clear if everyone started doing it that would be an amazing outcome, all I care about is destroying ICE and if that means this starts spreading memetically then fuck yeah, I just ask that people not selling the movement out like fucking Sean McElwee

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed
Frankly if "ICE must be destroyed" wasn't so associated with Mia that stealing it would seem like identity theft, I'd be putting it on everything too. Fuck those guys

This was their response:

In case it needs explaining, part of "standing in unity" is lifting up those being the most targeted right now. All queer people are being persecuted, but the primary focus is on eliminating trans people from public life. That's why I have this thread: To keep telling our stories.
On that note:

Trans authors (I mean authors who are trans, NOT cis people who write about trans people), drop your book links here and I'll try to repost as many as I can throughout the day.

Cis people: Repost trans authors' book links.

Cis people who want to complain about being excluded: gtfo
Being a trans author is fucking weird right now. Hell is actively unfolding all around us but I still need to be like, "hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book? It won't make anything better, but it's kinda fun?"

So....hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book?

I think what people need from fiction right now more than anything else is to feel less alone. less insane. to see their identities, their fears, their pain, their struggles, their hopes, their triumphs, their whole selves spoken to

to be seen is to be made real, and to touch the earth again

Trans authors: Drop links to your NON-AMAZON book listings/storefronts.

Cis people: Repost, boost, and, importantly, buy. Part of boycotting an evil corporation is supporting the alternatives.

If you see this, quote it with what you’re reading this weekend:

Carrion Saints by Hiyodori, which is reminding me a lot of Sousou no Frieren (immortal goes on journey trying to keep a promise to her last mortal companion), but with 100% more toxic yuri
If you see this, quote it with what you’re reading this weekend:

The Zeus Constant by @callistokhan.bsky.social for sure I’m still crunching my way through the yummy prose
if you see this, quote it with what you're reading this weekend:
thanks to @vivianne900.bsky.social reminding me that I owned it, I am finally reading @benjanun.bsky.social's 'Now Will Machines Hollow the Beast' (and I really regret not reading it sooner by the 6% mark (disassembly scene 😳🥵🥵))

Given everything going on in the games industry can I ask a favour?

Go support someone in the industry in some small way

Tell them what they do matters to you
Share a moment from something they helped create that lives on in you
Leave a positive review on that game you love

Show them you care 💜
