Worth noting that CT made buses free for a minute and it was very good.

"serving my time" isn't a real thing in this country. this place operates on the basis of once a criminal, always a criminal. every crime carries a life sentence. if you committed a crime at any stage of your life, you arent allowed to be part of society. ever.

Underrated thing that's been flying under the radar: ICE's hiring spree, by necessity since there are so few others willing and able, has been hiring away local cops, which infuriates the departments by causing manpower problems and is, ironically, removing the worst of the worst from their ranks.
The more local police see ICE assholes as criminals, the better it will be for us.
ICE employee among 16 men arrested in Bloomington sex trafficking sting, police say.
"When he was arrested, he said, 'I'm ICE, boys,'" Hodges said during a press conference Tuesday. "Well, unfortunately for him, we locked him up."

Timothy Mitchell's Carbon Democracy is a really good source for understanding how this happened
Most people, even very smart people, truly do not understand the extent to which car dependency was manufactured in the United States, and how decisions made 100 years ago are why cities and towns look the way they do today.

I'm really tired of people acting like car dependency happened organically when even a cursory look at history will make it clear that automakers pushed infrastructure and even zoning to juice car sales.

c'mon you must have some graphs to share supporting this! You're the graph-man
Guys, I promise there are lots of place in America where it's perfectly legal to build dwellings that aren't single-family homes. This is a weird urbanist myth. Lots of non-SFH housing gets built! That's good, we should build more, but it hasn't exactly ended demand for detached suburban units.
Will do you have any data to support this argument? You keep saying “people want to live in X” when X is the only type of home that’s *legal to build*

Of course most people will opt in to the type of home that is the only option!

The way TERFs got a foothold in England was because right wing lobbyists made a point of masquerading behind the rhetoric of Germaine Greer style suburban white feminism.

They said as much at their events where they originally proposed the move.
Going forward, its super SUPER important to understand that not all lobbying groups are created equal. Just because they use the right verbs doesn't mean they're friends.

Always pay attention to what their goals are beyond their rallying cries; its just as possible they'll jail YOU alongside Trump.
#SaveSpeech

if you've seen a video going around of Epstein survivors talking about their abuse, you need to be aware that video is promoting World-Without-Exploitation, an organization whose website supports legislation like KOSA, and advocates for the "Nordic model"

Even the ad targeting was basically a zero sum arms race with minimal or negative utility for both brands and consumers. We basically constructed a system that was bad for users and bad for buyers but created a simulacrum of consumer rationality that was attractive to executives.
