Gonna need a biopic starring Jesse Plemons on my desk by the end of Q3 2027. Thanks.

I wish I could do more than sound like a Cassandra, but this is coming/already here and there's not really anything you can do about it. And this is just the consumer version.
We're not ready for the privacy implications of RF Sensing. Especially since it can be activated via software with no new hardware required. Today it can determine motion and eventually provide presence detection using Wi-Fi, ZigBee or other radios. Updates could provide even more details.
Next step for Hue MotionAware: presence detection - Hueblog.com
Hue MotionAware could become even better in the future and also detect presence, as founder George Yianni reveals.

Not the point, but did my guy roast that turkey in an Eazy-Bake oven? Gas station hot dog-roller-ass turkey looking like hand-me-down luggage. No chance that dry-ass bird gives him salmonella so I hope he chokes on bone fragments.
Hey, we saw you from across the bar and really dig your vibe.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

It should cost $1 to send me an email unless I have previously emailed you. Ditto voice mail. It's entirely too easy and free for the hoi palloi to contact me.

There's lot of lamenting about an indie-sleaze revival, but the distance between now and 2006 is the same as between the release of Grease and its setting in 1959.

You're old, so what. At least your youth is a cultural curiosity and not forgotten.

I'm listening to a podcast where a host compares Zeus to Harvey Weinstein. Which, fair I suppose, given that the context is the intemperate raping. But still, I feel that's bit generous to Harvey.

I am the biggest, most shameless NYC stan on the planet, but no, New York City has not magically solved systemic racism.

White supremacy is so ingrained into every aspect of America that it is invisible to 99.99% of its beneficiaries. And that is a major factor in its endurance.
A white supremacist in Brooklyn is, actually, less in your face, aggressive, and dangerous.

Because society & govt of NYC isn't explicitly built around white supremacy!
Not that NYC, people, or cops, aren't racist, it's that southern society is BUILT AROUND it, so yes, it's less bad elsewhere.

The NIsqully Tribe has the opportunity to do the funniest thing in the world by signing this agreement, only to then renege and grant tribal membership all detainees, thereby aiding and abetting a foreigners' occupation of the white man's land.

The Nisqually Tribal Council said it was not aware of talks between a staffer and ICE about detaining immigrants. It has now rejected that notion.

There was a member of the Donner Party who was a little too eager to start eating people and I can't remember his name. It's driving me crazy. Like they'd be foraging for pine cones and dead bugs and he'd go "All I'm saying is that Bob is right there. We could just..." and flash an eyebrow.

The best part of Mamdani's campaign was becoming synonymous with happiness. Obvs it helps he has a grin the Cheshire Cat would envy, but it's also the opposite of Republicans. Republicans spend their time telling people they should be angry. Zohran makes people feel like he wants them to be happy.
