Read Aaron’s thread and his replies to various folks to get a sense of what DHS can and cannot do here regarding Mahmoud Khalil, a recent Columbia grad who helped lead the Gaza encampment and was detained by ICE today.
While the State Department CAN revoke *visas* with very little legal process involved, stripping someone of a green card is done by DHS (not the State Department) and requires filing formal charges alleging a violation of immigration law and a removal hearing in front of an immigration judge.

So far, Trump’s art of the deal is to give Russia whatever it wants in advance while asking for nothing from Putin. At the same time, he has tried to extort Ukraine for mineral rights. Once again, he seems not to know or care who America’s allies and enemies are.

That's not "defying the courts" any more than Congress did when it relied upon the Commerce Clause, not 14A, to enact Title II of the Civil Rights Act.
