1. Been thinking a lot about Judith Butler’s notion of “grievability” with respect to Charlie Kirk, Gaza, Melissa Hortman and others.

It’s a way of thinking about whose lives are socially recognized as valuable and, therefore, whose deaths are publicly mourned.
The reaction to Kirk’s murder on the right is a reminder that Republicans are the most bad faith people on the face of the planet.

The minute Kirk died we all knew the right would do this and yet a cavalcade of Democrats fell for it, including Newsom and Polis. Why the fuck after decades of this are leaders in the Democratic Party so fucking stupid?

This has been building for decades. Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Tucker Carlson... like a competition to see who can be the most outrageous. Charlie Kirk was winning. Taking the radical right farther and farther down the wormhole.
It's the right that went off the cliff. "Left" now means centre.

Conservatives slipped into another fucking reality since the Tea Party movement, and now they’re ushering liberals to the other side of the velvet rope like “you too can live in a world where justifying the mass murder of Palestinians or grieving a white nationalist makes you a good person!”

Charlie Kirk spent the last decade of his life whipping up extremists concerned about a billionaire pedophile cabal, and when it turned out to be completely true, he told them to stand down because their cult leader is part of that cabal.

That’s why he’s dead. That’s why.

Sympathizing with a Nazi makes you a Nazi sympathizer, and the curious thing about being a Nazi sympathizer is that it means you can’t really be recognized for your boundless capacity for empathy, because the thing you’re grieving is a mouthpiece for violent white supremacy.

What are we doing?

Since Charlie Kirk was fatally shot, people on the left have been censored, punished, and targeted with more violence for telling the truth about Kirk's legacy. The cycle continues: mainstream whitewashing of violence begets more violence and the victims are blamed.

The national gaslighting about Charlie Kirk
Another pattern of censorship that only hurts the left—and emboldens political violence.

God its so disingenuous to pretend that all CK did was “have horrible opinions”. The man co-founded an organization that’s sole function was to fight tooth and nail to indoctrinate children at school into violent white nationalism. He wasn’t even just a pundit. He was ceo of the baby Nazi factory.

The Quakers have always been great, they consistently show up to pro-trans protests, pro-palestine protests and disability protests.

Proud to call them comrades (cringe, LARP etc)
