Quite incredible that the US has half of the political spectrum composed entirely of people who spend their lives shoved in a locker.
One appeaser, Sen. Angus King, explained his decision with, “Standing up to Donald Trump didn’t work.”

Well sure, when you prematurely fold rather than see a fight through, you fail. And why should Trump opponents vote for anyone who thinks standing up to Trump isn’t worth doing?
Democrats Have to Get Out of a Normal Democracy Mindset
By folding in the government shutdown in exchange for virtually nothing, eight Democratic senators aid Trump's authoritarian takeover rather than oppose it

They genuinely think everyone is so, so dumb.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

New piece from me.

Abolish the Home Office.
interview done. she was asked a lot of stupid questions, but the best part was where they kept going back and asking what miniboyd's school is and who the teachers are (3 times across half an hour), just in case she happened to accidentally reveal no such child exists or we just stole a random one

If the UK had a sentient being for a DCMS secretary (or for a PM at least), UKG would be suing/blocking twitter into oblivion at this point. But we are where we are.
mainly boggling at the idea that any British media organisation has $1billion to be sued for (did Elon not tell him that we are but a simple land of hobbits, going about our hobbit business in the shires?)

Yeah, Europe is properly screwed in the science race. Literally a ball on the Titanic.

I might expand this thread with a deep read on this, but honestly it's too depressing.
Universities benefit from establishing and actively promoting opportunities for continuous professional development and recognising & rewarding staff achievements, so they need to provide a supportive and stimulating work environment for their staff.

Ken is trying to make you believe it wasn't Schumer's plan all along. Lol.
As this vote moves to the House, I stand with Democratic leadership as they refuse to rubber stamp the full-scale Republican assault on Americans’ health care and I am proud of the majority of Senate Democrats who opposed this vote.

The original Dem demands were:
1) Permanent ACA subsidies
2) Medicaid funding restored
3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission)

They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today.

The Senate Democrats!

Anyone thinking Gillibrand or Schumer are not on it might be interested in buying a bridge.

We can’t let them get away with this. Miller and the other architects of this sadism need to go to prison.

Why is anyone using him as an authority on…anything related to science or health?

@60minutes.bsky.social so curious about your choices…
