One of the weirder things about AI art is how frequently people use it to just generate like… a stock photo. Why did you need AI to create a crappy cartoon of a christmassy hearth for you? I could google exactly what you typed for that prompt and get human-made results that already exist?

I’m still trying to get through the rest of Ken Follett’s Kingsbridge saga but this bit about a Black man who was previously enslaved (plot complications likely to arise by which he will be enslaved once more OR killed— remains to be seen) just made me wince and say “ohhhh buddy” out loud

So this is to say: It's entirely possible that some of the men you deeply admire, for such good reasons, have done terrible things to women - & those women matter, too.
And also that, if you've been hurt by a Great Man (or a small or middling man) I see you, & I believe you.

Apparently everyone in the cast thought I was previously married? And the only reason I could think of was that I had mentioned “my ex.”
So I asked the room, “am I so old at 27 that when I mention an ex, everyone assumes it’s a husband?”
And one girl went “no, you’re still young!”
…”still.” 😭😭😭😭

Yesterday @ work a woman told me her entire life story (unprompted) & asked if I had kids. I was politely embarrassed that she thought me OLD enough to have KIDS! Then very slowly over several seconds I realized many ppl my age have not just babies or toddlers but fully sentient elementary schoolers
