The suburbs need a redo. They're so boring.
Walking, bikes, trains.
More pocket parks and local shops.

Has anyone traveled to Europe and taken a bike with you?

Any advice?

I was thinking of packing it in a large TV cardbox box, removing the front wheel to save space; it should fit within the airlines requirements for dimensions.

A very bike friendly street. Keeps cars slow and lets bikes ride smoothly. It’s Germany tjo so it must be grey at all costs

Switzerland reviewed #Palantir and decided a US data-mining defense contractor was too risky for government use. Imagine that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
“The Swiss army…was even interested in the purchase of Palantir software last year. An internal report shows that the fear that Palantir will pass on confidential data of the Swiss army to the American intelligence services CIA & NSA prevented the army staff from continuing the project.” 12/8/25…1/

Multi-modal win.
Protected cycle tracks with floating bus stops keep people of all ages safe on bikes whilst also allowing buses to move freely without being delayed by slower cyclists.

If you don’t frequently see families with kids traveling to destinations by bike, your bike network isn’t safe enough (&/or your zoning forces sprawl & car dependency).

Just saw a car ad that tried to sell being stuck in traffic as quality family time. I’ve never felt more sure that we’re near the collapse of car culture.

Portland is so full of brilliant bike people. At Bike Happy Hour last night, John Fortes (John the Johnster on socials) showed me his amazing, articulating front light that he designed, 3D printed, and built himself!

Brightline's experience shows cost escalations aren't a sin unique to the public sector or specific design choices made by California High-Speed Rail. We need systemic reform so we can build more green infrastructure like electric, high-speed rail.
The construction costs of Brightline West—the high speed rail line now under construction that will link Las Vegas with the outskirts of the LA region—are now expected to reach $21.5 billion, up from $16 billion.
California-to-Vegas High-Speed Rail Costs Jump $5.5 Billion
The price tag for building a private high-speed passenger railroad from Southern California to Las Vegas has swelled by nearly 35%.

The Department of Energy has added these terms to its growing “list of words to avoid” because words are dangerous:

climate change
green
decarbonization
emissions
energy transition
sustainability
sustainable
clean energy
dirty energy
carbon footprint
CO₂ footprint
tax breaks
tax credits
subsidies
Energy Dept. adds ‘climate change’ and ‘emissions’ to banned words list
It is the latest in a series of Trump administration efforts to dispute, silence or downplay climate change.

We're increasingly losing our humanity.
Sickening behavior by this agent. The fact that Mayor Adams has rolled out the red carpet for ICE is a stain on our city.
I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

Imagine if we made that easier to do.
