This is who many, many democrats want us to break bread with, by the way.
On “The Necessary Conversation” podcast, Chad’s Trump supporter parents tell him the military should follow Trump’s illegal orders and kill everyone in LA if Trump commanded it — even with him and his sister in the city😳

Bolsonaro may die in prison.

Bangladesh's PM was just sentenced to death for ordering last year's brutal crackdown.

Are any politicians running on a "We gotta start stacking these fascists like fucking cordwood" platform?

Headline: "AI can replace 11.7% of workforce"

Actual study: Anthropic paid MIT to use a "labor simulation tool" that said 11.7% of TASKS could be done by AI
MIT study finds AI can already replace 11.7% of U.S. workforce
Artificial intelligence can already replace 11.7% of the U.S. labor market, across finance, health care and professional services, according to MIT's study.

My nephew in Brazil wants me to bring him baseball equipment so I can teach him how to play baseball. Should I:

A) Explain to him that, even if I've been living for almost 8 years in the US, I have no idea how to play baseball;

B) Learn how to play baseball;

C) Teach him Calvinball.

The DC shooting story is really getting to me because we literally trained this man as a child soldier for a death squad in a forever war and Stephen Miller et al want to blame it on other cultures? It's our culture, American culture, that killed that woman.

The only problem with Welcome to Derry is that it's always painfully noticeable that the children actors cringe a little bit every time they need to say anachronistic slang such as pattycake or swell.

Yeah, Biden just wrote the Crime Bill and the Bankruptcy Bill, drafted the Patriot Act, voted for NAFTA, DOMA, and the Iraq War, eulogized Strom Thurmond, installed Clarence Thomas by smearing Anita Hill, voted to create DHS and ICE, made the Bush tax cuts permanent, and supported a literal genocide
Joe Biden was old but he wasn’t a fucking xenophobic racist dictator wannabe.

I think we had a good run of depictions of Satan as a sarcastic, sadistic, smirky guy, but it feels a little repetitive at this point. As a former Catholic, a Satan that is a vehicle of pure, sullen, unadulterated hate towards humanity rather than a trickster is way more scary.

Under the Sand, by François Ozon. In a moment where there is a proliferation of insipid books and movies about grief, Under the Sand, made 25 years ago, is the only one tackling the topic that hit me hard.
What movie are you most thankful for? (not necessarily your favorite!)
