I really like it when drivers of buses, ambulances, or HGVs wave or toot the horn at their mates.

Just the briefest of acknowledgements to brighten the day

@cmcalgary.bsky.social any idea why my posts wouldn't be appearing in the Calgary YYC feed?

Theatre #calgary is doing a special drinks offer for A Streetcar Named Desire and Blithe Spirit.

Saw it a few days ago, can see why it's withstood the test of time

1000 extra homes just wiped out in favour of more sprawl. #Calgary what is the plan for the next 50 years? Hoping to join up with Edmonton?

Funny thing is, this isn't *entirely* true. There are quite a few franchises that teach these lessons.

They're just all aimed at kids.

As soon as we get to adulthood, it seems presumed that we should abandon equity and justice as reasonable goals and start treating them as silly and childish.
Six decades later, Star Trek may still be the only franchise based on the ideas that diversity is strength, justice is the measure of civilization, bounty is to be shared, peace is worth the price, and all these things can be achieved.

We need more shows that look ahead and find goodness.

Arcane really was an excellent series, however it was doomed from the start by source material.

Plot points happened because the source material demanded it and it was frustrating because of that

Step up, support Calgary's low-income transit pass, and stop playing political "hot potato" with our most vulnerable.

If you can find $1.2B for a new arena for our wealthiest, you can find $15M to support this essential service.

Is there a way to tell where the bluesky sign ups are coming from?

Passing 18m is great, but if 17m are just from The US then it feels off. Need international communities to really strengthen the community

Arcane was phenomenal. I found it so interesting that while everyone got theatrical allegories, Jayce was the only one blinded by the light. And now we know why...
