this is not good at all.
“Someone” cancelled my family’s flight out of the country at the last second.

We got our boarding passes. We checked our bags. Went through security. Then at our gate our reservation ‘disappeared.’

Overcrowded cells. Unsanitary conditions. Limited access to food and water.

These are the conditions that ICE has created at 26 Federal Plaza, which eleven elected officials sought to expose. Instead, they were arrested.

They must be released right now — and inspectors let in.
Just now, 11 state and city lawmakers were arrested by DHS police on the 10th floor of 26 Federal Plaza after a hour of demanding access to the ICE lock up on the same floor. @thecity.nyc

Children were taken out of bed after midnight to be rushed onto planes. One girl "was so scared she vomited."

Barely an hour ago, Palestinian journalist Anas Al-Sharif warned us all:

“If this madness doesn’t end, Gaza will be reduced to ruins, its people’s voices silenced, their faces erased — and history will remember you as silent witnesses to a genocide you chose not to stop.”

Israel just killed him.

For @slate.com, I wrote about one dimension of the totalizing Trump/Miller immigration crackdown that's not getting enough notice, which is that they're moving to make indefinite detention — with no release dates and few options to get out — a norm
How Trump Made One of the Most Controversial Post-9/11 Policies the New Normal
Thousands of other people are going to get put into detention of indeterminate length with far less recourse, which could stretch years.

I'm not offended when Trump supporters try to assert I'm not a Christian. I just feel sad for them. Imagine believing that God's love is so finite and Christ's teachings are so qualified--against all scriptural evidence--that you completely miss the point of what God is and always has been: LOVE.
