If the Supreme Court pulled something like this while FDR was president, he would have had them escorted out of the building and nailed the doors shut. When the Dems take power, they should consider that.
This ruling only temporarily lets Texas use its new gerrymander for 2026, but by 2028, SCOTUS may have gutted the Voting Rights Act & the Texas GOP may have re-gerrymandered the map *again*, making it moot.

One of my most fond memories of studying opera at UT is sitting in the music library listening to the master class recordings from Julliard, trying to get her wisdom for aria I was learning (the Letter Scene from Massenet's Werther). La Divina was tragic magic. ❤️

A lot of what people imagine politically for this country can't actually happen under the current Democratic party. That's something that I don't see lots of people actually reckoning with. There is no way to do most of the things that some people want to do through the Democratic party.

I survived! Boy that was a long day of cooking and cleaning. Turkthulhu was with me and all is well. Though I did not get to taste it since I no longer eat meat, I am told I made a tender and incredibly tasty turkey.

it fascinates me how most everyone in the U.S. does turkey for Thanksgiving, but we are all over the map as to what we eat for Christmas (as is proper for a hugely diverse nation).
I come from a Christmas prime rib roast family, myself.
