Police in Canterbury today informed a protestor that the phrase "Israel is committing genocide in Gaza" could be considered a declaration of support for Palestine Action and therefore a terrorism offence.

If I could speak to the heads of big law firms, I would ask: Is the risk of losing some clients worth betraying your oath to the rule of law?

To everyone nodding but refusing to take a stand, I say: You are ignoring Martin Niemöller’s message. It is you that Martin Luther King Jr. was condemning.

I will use every tool at my disposal to protect this country from Trump. I will litigate to defend voting rights until there are no cases left to bring. I will speak out against authoritarianism until my last breath.

I will not back down. I will not bow or scrape. I will never obey.

The Torygraph and Times blaming a trans teen for others attempting to murder her. We’re seeing a regression back to the days when trans people were battered for entertainment on the Jerry Springer show but worse.

We’ll see more and more lynchings like this. That’s what this was, a lynch mob

Always my favourite thing when academics do the hard work to prove the thing your gut already knew to be clear and true.
Misinformation isn't random - it's strategic. 🧵

In the first cross-national comparative study, we examine 32M tweets from politicians.

We find that misinformation is not a general condition: it is driven by populist radical right parties.

It's not just Facebook v. the Digital Services Act (always was); and its not Marjorie Taylor Greene v. the DSA (she doesn't care!)

It's the USA v. the EU

This is geopolitics all the way down.

Monday was the worst single day for Labour for a very long time:
- Starmer backed ruthless spending cuts
- Full throated embrace of AI + Elon Musk's xAI
- "Anonymous" NHS records could be sold to AI firms
- New AI growth zone near key water reservoir
- No criticism of Meta ditching its fact checkers
