It was only after Jonas Salk developed the first safe & effective polio vaccine that the need for iron lungs declined. When asked who owned the vaccine patent, Salk famously answered, “Well, the people, I would say. There is no patent. Could you patent the sun?” 7/7

A Palestinian official report that Israeli forces dropped +85,000 tons of bombs and explosives on Gaza since the start of their war. This amounts to nearly 233 kg of explosives per square meter across Gaza’s 365 km². The scale of destruction exceeds the power of the Hiroshima bomb by five times.
