Yes, very cool, some of my relatives refuse to see any pros (debt, cost blowout etc), infrastructure needed for a growing Vic, not perfect, big stuff not easy to do always contentious, it’s like being mean spirited about PM getting married, we can be positive about human achievements big & personal
Went for a sticky at the new Metro rail tunnel today. This is the new State Library station. Very cool

I have been caught just this morning smiling goofily and lingering a touch too long over the mangoes at the supermarket
Growing up in Brisbane, we never bought mangoes. I don’t think shops sold any. But we ate them all the time in season. From local trees. And in those days, parents popped their kids in the bath to eat their #mangoes. Juice everywhere. Sweet, tangy, stringy. The best. www.abc.net.au/news/2025-11...
Fancy a sweet, juicy mango? Here's all you need to know about them
What's the difference between a big R2E2, a delicate Honey Gold, and an iconic Kensington Pride? Find out before biting into a mango this season.

Politicians invariably let you down (we let them down too hello apathy, ignorance & purity) but we need some Oz Mamdani energy, daughter of retired migrant small business owner, my Dad still gets stopped in shopping centres by old customers, small business is the lifeblood & character of communities
Soon small businesses won’t have to wait for Small Business Saturday to get attention from their Mayor.

Some changes that they can look forward to:

Feel dirty (& naive) just reading this, so many dead, sovereignty & independence of Ukraine & Europe being sacrificed on the alter of ‘business peace’ not real peace or ethical business, rather for the greed of the most corrupt US-Russo oligarchs, imperial frenemies uniting against humans and earth
"By dangling multibillion-dollar rare-earth and energy deals, Moscow could reshape the economic map of Europe—while driving a wedge between America and its traditional allies"

Read this excellent @wsj.com account of the business deals behind the "peace"negotiations

The Kremlin pitched the White House on peace through business. To Europe’s dismay, the president and his envoy are on board.

Seriously, America is a rogue country unable to save itself while its demise blazes in a corruption conflagration that is igniting fires world wide, would some sane perhaps legally qualified world leaders like to do their jobs & band together to condemn this latest lawlessness given what it signals
Trump says he will pardon former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernández, who was charged, tried and convicted on drug trafficking charges, and who is currently serving a 45-year sentence in a US prison. Why? Probably because he gave Trump a taste of the action.

I think I want a Brendabot for Christmas stoically voiced by Cate Blanchett for disillusioned adults ‘I know all sense of truth, reality & justice has been shattered, you feel adrift, angry at the world but its always been like this, let’s go for a walk, let’s feel some grass beneath your feet’

This is racist evil stuff that can’t just be ignored as crazy Trump, he helms a nuclear power ‘leading’ the world because our elected leaders are blindly allied to this rotten bullying regime, any reference to shared values with a leader who is kidnapping, killing and bribing must be challenged

Sign up for the Weekly Beast media newsletter here The former ABC broadcaster Kerry O’Brien got a standing ovation at the 70th Walkley awards on Thursday night for a rousing speech that reminded media in the ICC Sydney ballroom of the “clear and present danger for a strong, free, effective and independent media everywhere”. The winner of six Walkley awards, including the Gold, called on the industry to unite to strengthen press freedom. He began by paying tribute to Palestinian journalists who have “confronted the world with powerful evidence that has gradually taken on the look and feel of genocide in real time” and decried the “outrageous casualty list of Palestinian journalists and other media workers in Israel’s war on Gaza since the brutal attack by Hamas on Israeli citizens two years ago”. You know when Apple needs a password for a new device you type it but it goes NOPE type it again STILL NOPE so you must change it which requires your first pet's death certificate then you try the new one and it STILL doesn't work then the OLD ONE WORKS and you smash up your house? No? Just me then.
