One way I have found to mourn someone is to set up a monthly sustaining donation to a mutual aid effort they cared about. If you can join me in honoring Alice Wong, @sfdirewolf.bsky.social with a sustaining donation today, please do. Thank you Alice, and I will not let the bastards grind me down.

"Tzefardea Tzedek" (Frog of Righteousness)

As soon as the Portland Frog became a meme, Jewish social media blew up with jokes about the 2nd Passover plague - tzefarde'a (frogs) - and the Rabbinical commentary around it. I knew I had to make a calligraphy piece encompassing all of it. (more in alt.)

Did you know that the university of Michigan is building the world’s largest supercomputer for Los Alamos National Labs’ nuclear weapons production programs, and paying for $830 million of it despite not being able to use >90% of it?

I wrote about it here:

UMich says the Ypsi Data Center won’t “manufacture nuclear weapons.” What does Los Alamos think?
University administration must make a choice: Will it side with the public and live up to its stated ideals of serving the public good and public interest? Or will it side with LANL and spend hundreds...

Politely and peacefully demand a retraction and an apology.
Transgender people are owed a retraction and apology from @wsj.com. The lie has already become canon to millions and it seems the least they could do.

The Wall Street Journal needs to issue a full retraction and apology to the trans community for this. Nothing less will suffice. They put us all in danger and recklessly put out incorrect information.

THREAD. Something must be said about the New York Times. We are in the midst of a full-blown fascist takeover, and the NYT let one of its most dishonest reporters publish an article today full of misinformation arguing for massive new investments in police and surveillance.

Farm workers are being terrorized, imprisoned, and deported without due process. Trump's immigration sweeps unjustly target farm workers, Latinos and other vulnerable communities. This goes against American values. This July 4th weekend, take action and message your Congress Members. Link below. ⬇️

Hey.

Two-thirds of people DON'T KNOW what's in Trump's budget bill, even though it will affect all of us. Polls show when people know what's in it, they don't want Trump's Big Ugly Bill.

So let's make sure more people know what's in it 🧵

No, New York Times. That's not what trans people are saying.

Listen to what she said. They are "liberating the city" from the ELECTED governor and mayor. Think about what that means.
Kristi Noem: "We are not going away. We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city."

Sen. Alex Padilla is then forcibly removed!

🚨NEW: @cbsnews.com reports ICE is arresting people who can't even legally be deported and holding them without enough food or water in a federal building BASEMENT in Los Angeles.

Families dutifully attending check-ins with ICE are being arrested and held for days, forced to sleep on the floor.

if you’re calling democratic reps about the maga murder budget, you should *specifically mention* it’s unacceptable to pass a bill blocking funding for lifesaving transition care FOR TRANS PEOPLE OF ALL AGES.

if you want to stand with trans people, this is a big moment. 🧵

I have said this before, but I must say it again; it is remarkable how much the GOP wants to kill us and how little anyone outside of our community seems to care.
The House Republican reconciliation bill will now ban both surgeries and HRT prescription under Medicaid for all Americans.

Earlier, I posted that it wouldn’t affect HRT. This is incorrect.

I was mistaken, because the bill refers to medications for trans people… as “procedures.”
