In 2015, I burnt myself out and had a mental breakdown. Since my recovery (before that, tbh), I've been trying to get my writing career back on track.
It hasn't happened.
I've suffered losses and gone through a divorce, and I'm emotionally fragile. But that isn't why I've made the decision to quit

I just found out last night that the $50k enrollment bonus only pays out after 5 years of service, and reader, the laugh I let out when I read that woke the dog from across the house. These absolute fucking grapes aren't seeing a dime of that money. No way they can ride out 5 years of this job.

The concept that in an encounter with law enforcement (ICE, police, etc) one must magically know the right thing to say or do to keep that person from flying into a murderous rage is something only abuse victims understand. Compliance can easily be twisted into non-compliance to justify violence.

Jumping from couch to couch, missing, and breaking my leg at 3 years old.
But having ADHD was a surprise. 😬

I did that thing with a supermarket trolley where you lift your feet off the ground. I forgot I was 45 and 15 stone.

I was learning how to do handstands. During a dismount, I landed just *slightly* the wrong way and fucked up my Achilles tendon.
It took 9 months, 2 physiotherapists, and a specialist to fix it. 🤦♂️
