Strikes tomorrow mean my son's surgery has been cancelled. He's an incredibly stressed young man with learning disability who has built up to this surgery all week. Seizures ⬆️and now has to reset to a new date in 4 weeks time.Remember unseen impact on patients when striking @rachel-p.bsky.social

NHS 10-Year-Plan is out!📣

We are pleased to see the ambition for carers to be actively involved in care planning and welcome the new section for the NHS app called ‘My Carer’.

Without carers the healthcare system would collapse we must see them supported in all areas

It's #CoProWeek25

This year’s theme is Innovation through Co-production. A reminder that when people with lived experience shape solutions, we get innovation that works.

Looking forward to the activities this week as we continue to work towards people being at the heart of care and support.

Really interesting to read this
Adult ADHD assessment services in the UK face inconsistent data collection, hindering national planning. Standardised data is essential to improving waiting times, service delivery and outcomes.

Unpaid carers contribute the equivalent of four million paid care workers to the social care system.

Without them, the system would collapse.

But over the past 10 years, the number of carers receiving support has decreased – find out more in Social Care 360:

Amazing to see in the blueprint for ICBs that working fully with people and communities is vital. Really pleasantly surprised to read the document and see how often coproduction and codesign feature. Hopefully the ICBs will develop plans that reflect this

Amongst many issues with this whole process is the point that there are no perfect footprints for NHS organisations. We do not live our lives in neat boxes, and wherever a boundary is put there will be cross border issues. We'd make so much more progress if we could pick a structure and stick to it.

There is still fury and consternation about the decision to cut the running costs of integrated care boards in half, but plans to consolidate the number of ICBs from 42 to between 23 and 28 are well advanced.
Which ICBs are heading for merger?

And maybe because so often social care is seen as an adjunct to the NHS, something to get frail older people out of hospital, rather than as it should be, the support which enables people - including those frail older people - to thrive in their community.
Love this. So seldom that we hear about social care as support to be and do the things that matter to us. Maybe because so often it isn’t offering us that? www.bbc.com/news/article...

Every #unpaidcarer needs to contact their MP and tell them exactly what will happen to them and the person they look after if these changes go ahead.
This is really concerning. We already save the government the same as the NHS budget for the year. Not only us but the people we care for are likely to come to harm as we juggle all those balls that no one seems to recognise.

Massive cuts:
2. Carers likely to lose out too: 1.4 million get Carers Allowance - £4,258.80 a year. 55% awards linked to PIP. 28% of carers are also disabled, around 150,000 unpaid carers receive both Carer’s Allowance and PIP. @carers-uk.bsky.social
