"There is escape and there is struggle, and she is caught between the two” -Sahar Khalifeh

I have a Muslim friend on staff at Rutgers University (not even on this list). On Friday, she was informed that one of her students had their visa revoked. On Sunday, it was 12. The scale of this is far more significant & should provoke a much stronger outcry 1/3

Back in 2012, I witnessed a Palestinian child of around 7 violently arrested/abducted by Israeli border police in the al-Issawiya neighborhood of Jerusalem. This event led to a complete unraveling of long-held beliefs after I tried desperately to find the child & understand the accusations (1/3)
Right now, Israel is imprisoning 112 Palestinian children without charge or trial–the highest number in history.

Israel abducted these children from their homes & it won't tell them or their families why–or when they'll be released. This is what apartheid looks like.
Israel is arbitrarily jailing Palestinian children in record numbers. This must stop
Administrative detainees, held without charge or trial, now represent more than a third of Palestinian child prisoners

Co-resistance in which anti-Zionist Israelis choose to be arrested & attacked alongside Palestinians, at the invitation of the community, is not normalization. I too spent many days & nights there & I know the community welcomed this film & the activists who share in their struggle.
'No Other Land' is a victory for the Palestinian struggle
While some have accused the film of normalization, Masafer Yatta leaders and activists are unwavering in their support for joint resistance.

The ADL is proudly and openly allied with antisemites and fascists who are taking an axe to our democracy and hurting all of us. Full stop.
The ADL has now publicly *congratulated the Trump administration* for arresting green card holder Mahmoud Khalil

This may be the biggest free speech crisis in living memory. The president now bragging about detaining a lawful permanent resident and smearing him as 'pro Hamas', no outlining any specific crimes he is accused of or charged with. This is what a fascist takeover looks like.

The details are disturbing. It basically looks like a kidnapping. They even got his legal status wrong but proceeded to detain him anyway. The agents didn’t even identify themselves at first and refused to show a warrant.

NEWS: Last night, the Department of Homeland Security detained a Palestinian who helped lead the Columbia encampment.

Agents told him his visa was revoked. He said he had a green card. They were confused—then said that was revoked too.

His attorney demanded a warrant. Agents hung up instead.

After millions of dollars in federal grants were pulled from Columbia, now a Palestinian activist has been arrested & is being threatened with deportation despite holding a green card & legal residency status. This is not democracy - this is a concerted (& illegal) campaign to silence all dissent.

They do not care about Jewish safety.

They care about moving their cruel, anti-democratic agenda.

We will not let them use real Jewish pain as an excuse to crush freedom of speech, deport people, and punish institutions they disagree with. 🧵

In all the Oscar buzz, let’s not lose sight of this 👇
Our film is going to the Oscars. But in Masafer Yatta, we’re still being erased
As the world watches ‘No Other Land,’ Israeli settlers are raiding our villages while soldiers arrest us, abuse us, and demolish our homes.

I'm so proud of my friends, Basel and Yuval! After years without funding, in which I thought they may give up, who would have thought it would be an Oscar?!

The question that remains, will people just enjoy watching this & do nothing? Or will they actually act to end ethnic cleansing?
‘No Other Land,' an Israeli-Palestinian collaboration, wins Oscar for best documentary
The film tells the story of Palestinian activists fighting to protect their communities from demolition by the Israeli military.

Trump is threatening to cut aid to Egypt & Jordan unless they accept mass displacement of Palestinians from Gaza—a blatant attempt at ethnic cleansing. But guess what? The New York Times and mainstream media won’t say it. Instead, they frame it as a "Gaza Redevelopment Plan" .

It even gets worse when we consider the statement by the Israeli police defending the raid:
