I skeet about politics and volunteer on DSA campaigns :). South Asian with a love of chai.
All the person did was point out that Sarah McBride, a transwomen herself, voted for this, and you came here and started scolding people for being too harsh on her? Wth? Also, why are you so outfront defending your AIPAC $$ taking colleagues whereas not saying a word about Mace attacking Ilhan?
Yeah! That is totally understandable and criticism is fair - I don’t fault anyone for engaging it and part of our job is receiving that.

I just think at times it goes a bit beyond criticism precisely because the stakes are so high.

Had you just come out and said "I will not be supporting any amendment offered by a Nazi antisemitic fascist." people would have disagreed but been fine with it. Your own statement about the iron dome is what people have issue with. Having the Iron dome is what allows Israel to commit this genocide.
I also voted NO on the full bill which includes this appropriation.

So a lot of people are being reactive to things they aren’t reading fully.

ICE just arrested Brad Lander, the NYC Comptroller and one of the leading candidates for Mayor, without grounds.

He was conducting routine immigration court work, escorting individuals from hearings.

He asked ICE for their warrant - well within his legal rights.

This is political intimidation.
Whoa! NYC mayoral candidate and current city Comptroller Brad Lander seemingly arrested at the NYC immigration court while attending to escort someone attending their hearing.
Lander just got detained by federal agents as he tried to escort a man out of the courtroom. Lander was taken in an elevator with masked agents, along with one member of his NYPD security detail.

Incredible. The Trump administration calculated "tariff rates" by taking the US trade deficit with the respective country and dividing it by the country's exports to the US. And then the tariff rate of the US is often just set by cutting that made-up "tariff rate" in half.

On a promotional webinar with the New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, @aoc.bsky.social boasted of taking the lead role in organizing opposition to supplemental U.S. aid to Israel earlier this year.

Former Israeli Defense Minister Yaalon is right.

Netanyahu's government is committing war crimes & ethnic cleansing in Gaza. You don't fight terrorism by starving people & killing tens of thousands of civilians.

I hope more Israeli military leaders will join him in speaking up.

I will most definitely pay for a monthly subscription even if i don't end up using any of the features they offer. I thoroughly enjoy the vibes here vs twitter where it looks like a MAGA chud or p*rn bot fiesta in the replies.
Bluesky will be launching a subscription service by the end of the year. There are no details yet on how many tiers. Premium tiers will likely include higher-resolution pics, more/longer video uploads, and profile/page customization aesthetics. Longer term, there's a monetization plan for creators.

AIPAC went after less targets than they suggested they would. And some of our strongest pickups in PA, IL survived. I think that’s worth exploring.

Reflection doesn’t automatically mean capitulation or left-punching. It can mean actively identifying the strategies that are actually *working,* too.

Uncle Bernie is here!
Last night, 19 Senators voted to end illegal arms sales to Israel.

We stood up to AIPAC, the Democratic Senate leadership, and the Biden administration.

We must continue going forward to end illegal arms sales and hold Netanyahu accountable for his war crimes.

A lot of people responsible for poor decisions are on a press tour right now because if they didn’t, people would rightfully be questioning THEIR leadership and they know it.

It’s weak even by normal left-punching standards. Zero evidence more Liz Cheney would have won this. The opposite, actually.
