There's a lot to unpack here but the main point is that UK trade openness is more about attitudes to immigration than Brexit, and that even then it would be difficult to escape low growth in a mature economy. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Isn't it time someone else took over from this senile irrational President?
The President of the United States is publicly calling for the political prosecution of his political opponents, urging the death penalty because they urged soldiers to uphold the rule of law.

This should be front page news everywhere. It is not, which tells much about how we got to this point.

It is now clear when Albo said "no-one left behind", he really meant:

- big media
- fossil fuel lobby
- for-profit childcare corporations

But Australians with the greatest needs? Yeah nah. #auspol
Gambling ruins lives. It is absolutely unacceptable that the Albanese government will continue to choose vested interests over the wellbeing of Australians and hide behind a watered-down policy - if they ever introduce one. We need action on gambling harms now.

Small countries around the world are quickly installing renewables, improving the health and wealth of their citizens.

Good riddance, fossil fuels!
Europe's electricity system is changing rapidly and often in places that don't make the headlines.

Look at Estonia - not that long ago and fossil fuels dominated around 90% of electricity generation.

Today solar and wind eat more and more into the share of fossil fuel-generated electricity.
