What a great day to be thankful for what you have! Once you start to see the value in “obsolete” technology, it’s impossible to justify just how short our upgrade cycles have become.

We're gonna need a truth and reconciliation commission and Nuremberg style trials to reckon with all of this evil, and any Dem candidate for office who shies away from a full reckoning in the name of "moving forward as a nation" can get well and truly fucked

Oh dear, this is already bringing out the 'You shouldn't defend this game, it's icky art that makes me uncomfortable' crowd.
I've no time for them. After the (still ongoing) payment processor censorship mess, I'm pretty sure I'm in the 'unless it's actively illegal, let art be unsettling' camp.

"you have not played the game unless you've played the game" is one of my more annoying but unshakable opinions
the whole "don't play the game, just watch a video on youtube that will explain its story to you" is so disheartening because the issue of accessibility is genuinely really important but it's always just people who want to be spoon-fed nicely quantifiable information

Today marks the anniversary to the US release of Final Fantasy IV. Cecil's turn from Dark Knight to Paladin reminds me of a quote from Barrett in FFVII Remake:
"A good man who serves a great evil is not without sin. He must recognize and accept his complicity...Only then can he redeem himself."
