The stuff Jeffrey Epstein’s friends felt comfortable saying and drawing in grotesque detail with their names attached knowing they would not face consequences is the kind of thing I think of when I think about rape culture and how sexual violence against girls and young women is actually glorified

It's important to know what we're dealing with. Though some in the media still try to horse-race, both sides this, we're faced with psychopaths at the helm of our nation's public health, scientific and healthcare efforts. They want to inflict pain and suffering. It's a goal, not a by-product. 6/

There will, of course, never be any reciprocity. This will apply only to Republican presidents, and maybe only to Donald Trump. If only because no normal president would ever dare invoke it.

There’s a nonzero chance you will die from a cancer that could have been curable because people who couldn’t pass 7th grade biology and are scared of things like “mRNA” and “riboflavin” and “walkable cities” decided to make their ignorance everybody else’s problem
Over 120 mRNA cancer trials are now at risk as the Trump admin cuts funding & tells researchers to scrub “mRNA” from grant proposals.

What started as COVID fearmongering is now derailing life-saving cancer research.

Hope remains - but scientists say time is running out.

The actual plan for September is to hope that REPUBLICANS stand up to Trump
Schumer tells me Republicans might try to jam Democrats again in September, but thinks Trump will be less popular then and Republican appropriators might be more willing to stand up to him. He said they refused to do so now.

But, hey, at least Marc Thiessen, Hugh Hewitt, Megan McArdle, Kathleen Parker, and George Will are still around at the Post - all of them committed to the exact opposite of what makes Sargent great: They obscure, they refuse to ever learn, they exist to launder reactionary nonsense. Great!
If this is indicative of where mainstream media is headed, it’s extremely worrisome. I can’t say it’s surprising: What makes @gregsargent.bsky.social stand out - no sanitizing, no obscuring, focus on the threat to democracy - is precisely what’s made him an increasingly awkward fit with the Post.
Greg Sargent has been relentless in his quest to call out those who flood the discourse with nonsense, tireless in his efforts to dissect the threats to democracy, and steadfast in his refusal to sanitize what’s happening on the Right. I’ll keep reading, whatever is next for him.
