Native tongue is Futurama references
Futurama nailed it multiple times, but the Comedy Central era finale was absolutely perfect
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

This is a fantastic thread, and it's not unique to software development. The learning loops part is critical, and too commonly missed.
There *is* a solid, repeatable operating solution to this issue, which we're building as a platform to specifically help ecommerce companies at first.
I see this fallacy almost every day, in tech and politics:
1. There is a problem
2. We believe that our solution will fix the problem
3. We built the solution
4. Therefore the problem is now fixed

Bitch, no. You have to check.

Let's talk about leading and trailing indicators.

Since I don't post about anything ever, I might as well share some of my tasting notes from our current Scotland trip. Might eventually follow it up with the past 15yrs of beer tastings.

Springbank hand pour, 59.3%, The Black Cat
Banana, clove, a lot of heat, tobacco, very enjoyable

I turn everything into spreadsheets. It was a big deal for me to finish Elden Ring without making one for it. Any other game with that much time invested got one. Also car buying, household items, annual budget, PC build, to-do lists, pretty much anything I can score or model.
It's funny that nowadays any really serious hobby eventually leads to you using and mastering spreadsheets.

Your IKEA product name is your name spelled backward with an umlaut

I am Selucrëbmug, a vessel for hot beverages that has many awkward handles, evoking a crab's legs. You're unsure whether this is what the carcinization warning is about. Keep away from other mugs.

I am Eticirës, a kitchen gadget that looked really useful at the store but you’ll never take out of the drawer once you get home.

Excel tip
Viewing a slide right now that shows -34 as 65% higher than -20. I see it commonly.
FP&A folks: if you want your higher/(lower) or better/(poorer) figures to be robust to sign changes, just use:
(T1 - T0) / ABS(T0)

Started replaying Shadow of Mordor for the first time in about 4 years. Both games are really well done, and I'm surprised I never really saw anyone talk about them. (Doesn't mean they didn't, just that I don't recall seeing them on anyone's favorites list, for example).
