And actually--Comet Pizza was a page out of a playbook that started with daycare decades before.

In 1983, a California mom accused her son's childcare provider of subjecting children to Satanic rituals--like flushing them down toilets into secret basements where they were then filmed for porn. 1/🧵
Trump guys are about to Comet Pizza every third daycare center because they think they are all fronts for Somali money laundering. They're only doing this near cities with progressive mayors. This is straight up Government by LibsOfTikTok.

BREAKING: Judge James Boasberg rules for those deported under the Alien Enemies Act on March 15 — certifying a class, finding the U.S. maintained constructive custody over them at CECOT, finding they were not given due process, and ordering return or that such process be given by Jan. 5, 2026.

it’s very clear that beneath all the lies, the real rationale for sending a bunch of perfectly nice and normal dudes to CECOT was to deter immigration by saying “you will end up in hell if you come here”. personally I think we have to deter THAT malignancy with trials and harsh, speedy punishment.
here's the 60 minutes cecot video part 1 of 5 - recorded/uploaded by and all credit to @jasonparis.bsky.social

I just reduced background noise, chopped the 14 minutes into 3 minute segments each compressed under 100 mb for bsky's limits, cropped and rotated a few degrees for easier viewing on here

No sooner do we send out a fundraising email noting a precipitous drop in funds than two new bond requests come in totaling $15,000. Can we bring some detained folks home for the holidays? 🙏🏻

To give you a sense of how big a departure this year, the government doesn't do this for wanted criminals.
SCOOP: The Trump administration is providing the names of all travelers passing through U.S. airports to immigration officials in search of people with deportation orders, a substantial expansion of government efforts to draw on data to hunt down immigrants.

We've got to do better when it comes to planning and paying for protected bike lanes and traffic calming. We hear the City say one thing, and then do another when it comes to actually putting money and political will into real improvements.
@cvillecityhall.bsky.social is on track to miss its own comprehensive plan & climate goals while budgeting so little for bike infra due to failure to identify projects.

I wrote a letter urging Council to fund a connected, protected network—not another decade of failure

This bridge is a total game-changer!
Walked the new pedestrian bridge over 29 today to do some convenient holiday shopping. I love that thing.

Very considerate of the city et al to up the protestor capacity on that stretch of road for future No Kings rallies!

Looking for a #GivingTuesday option that will keep giving? Maybe something that will help folks being terrorized by the current regime? Give to the Central Virginia Community Support Fund, a grassroots, all-volunteer effort that pays immigration bond for Virginians detained by ICE.

We are putting together our first “Holiday Gift Guide” and need your help!

Please reply with items you use to walk/bike/roll through your community that you think others will enjoy.

It can be clothing, gear, books, etc.

And of course all we really want for the holidays is better infrastructure!

It’s super easy to share your feedback on this really suboptimal design for the 5th St bridge over 64. VDOT just unveiled stunning multimodal infrastructure over 29; why are 2-wheeled road users dismissed on this project?
VDOT wants input on the future of the intersection of I-64 and 5th Street.

If you’re wondering how to respond, see the screenshot below from our friend Peter Krebs at PEC.

The survey closes Friday the 21st (tomorrow!), so please take a few minutes to fill out now.
