Nearly half a century of time served. Football, antiracism, antisexism, and antifascism.
Decent final day in St Louis. Conference wrapped, went up the Arch, and hit the Science Center. Headed to the airport at 6am to fly home.

You know, members of the US military have a duty and obligation to not follow unlawful orders, so Trump's little tantrum is wildly out of order.

Before today I don't think I quite realized that people not having side conversations in a large room during a presentation or panel discussion is an accessibility issue. My ADHD medication has run out and I CANNOT concentrate on the panel discussion if people are talking in my earshot.

The US are... Good somehow? I'm not exactly sure what changed, but we are improving at exactly the right time, with the World Cup coming next year.

Perfect example of the rot of capitalism. Dudes make the world demonstrably worse in order to increase their wealth.

1000% correct. "Microscope discovers bacteria" or "telescope discovers Pluto" would be equivalent headlines.
Nope. The headline should actually read “Astronomers using ML discover quasars acting as lenses”

Was talking about this with some coworkers last night. *Everything* is in a bubble at the moment, and when it crashes down it will be very obvious who will be put against the wall during the revolution. It feels like it will be a nasty crash. Like we are in the spring of 1929.
Capitalism is incredible. Sorry, former teacher, your retirement fund is gone because 5 guys who've collectively never worked a full hour told the banks to put all the money in the country into virtual girlfriend futures
WSJ: “.. If the AI market blows up, the blast radius would be wide, hitting not only Wall Street firms, but also pensions, mutual and exchange-traded funds and individual investors, because of how debt is often sliced and resold across the financial landscape.”

Conferences, man. Only place in the world where a $5 energy drink from the hotel feels like a great deal.

I'm tickled by Troy Parrott's heroics for Ireland as he was a big fixture in my squad in my most recent long FM playthrough a few years back.

First person commented on my "WWJBD?" patch on my jacket today. (What Would John Brown Do?). Surprised someone clocked who it was. Got a comment on the "Anti Fascist Club" patch earlier this week. Both positive. ❤️

My printer (a Sovol SV06) is not big enough to build a 10-inch computer rack. 😖 Eyeballing a Elegoo Centauri Carbon. Also, since I just (was forced into) upgraded my electric service, thinking about adding a circuit in the basement and moving printer(s) down there.
