Nearly half a century of time served. Football, antiracism, antisexism, and antifascism.
My printer (a Sovol SV06) is not big enough to build a 10-inch computer rack. 😖 Eyeballing a Elegoo Centauri Carbon. Also, since I just (was forced into) upgraded my electric service, thinking about adding a circuit in the basement and moving printer(s) down there.

Maybe it's ... a feature, not a bug.

Can't wait to set my university password to "correct horse battery staple" when we finally get to set non-expiring passphrases. This is like 15 years overdue.

NWSL playoffs on TV, knocked out some house chores after the F1 race, and building some Lego. A good Sunday

Verstappen strategy masterclass. Drop out in Q1 to save softs for the race, start from the pit lane, and charge for a podium down the stretch. Incredible

This perfectly encapsulates how I feel living in the US. The republican party is an insane death cult, the democratic party is 3 corporations in a trench coat, and the "socialists" are just the completely normal left-wing capitalists you'd find in any of 2 dozen European nations.
Europeans recognize Zohran Mamdani’s supposedly radical policies as ‘normal’
Critics of New York City’s mayor-elect have said his pledges of free bus service and universal childcare are unrealistic, but in Europe it’s a given

Can't feed poor people, but can propagandize for the secret police.
ICE isn’t only continuing to spend millions on advertising despite the government shutdown — in some cases it has even ramped up its taxpayer-funded propaganda push.

Oh wait, despite PAYING for the ESPN streaming service, I can't watch F1 because of the YouTubeTV dispute, since they are my TV provider? Cool cool cool cool.

My Pixel 6 Pro isn't dead, but it *is* approaching end of support. My carrier is offering me a Pixel 10 Pro for "free" (three year payoff, credit for the payment amount every month, credits end if I trade in the phone), but I have to pay tax and a $40 fee. On the fence. Conspicuous consumption?

NEW: The US Army website for its bases in Bavaria, Germany told its soldiers and employees that it might need to obtain free food from the German government during the US government shutdown.

The Army later altered publication to remove a list of food banks, but we have the original text here:
US Army Tells Soldiers to Go to German Food Bank, Then Deletes It
The initial 'Shutdown Guidance' for the US Army Garrison Bavaria included instructions to go to German food banks.

The full weight of western capitalism is about to laser focus on NYC. The robber barons failed to win and will panic. They will sabotage NYC because the system cannot allow Mamdani's term to be successful. They cannot allow people to believe things can be better. Your job now is to hold the line.

With everything else going on, it's gonna be tough, but my dog needs knee surgery. Poor girl is limping around so bad. Thankful to be privileged enough to be able to make it happen, even if things are gonna be tight. I need surgery with a month long convalescence too, so it's getting complicated.
