petesouza RIP to the People's House. The current occupant of the Oval Office is demolishing the East Wing of the White House (see third photo obtained by the Washington Post). The East Wing is where President Obama ran with Bo in the hallway that visitors enter the White House as they begin their public tour (first photo). The East Wing houses offices for the First Lady, Social Office, WH Military Office, Military Aides, Visitors Office and more. There is a reception room and a family theater (second photo) for the president's family and guests. The East Wing is being destroyed by one man. There is a process to renovate any part of the White House. That was ignored. Congress could have intervened. They didn't. The media could have done more reporting on what building a ballroom would mean. They believed the lies that one man and one woman (his press secretary) said in response to their initial questions. This is a disgrace. The White House was once the People's House. Now it belongs to a wannabe king.

But pregnant 12-year-old little girls are treated as adults and must literally bear the consequences of rape and incest.

NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.

the issue of drug prices is solved. Dear Leader has already lowered them by a millionty-thousand percent. it’s true! here’s Donny on the tarmac last evening, coming from from his weekend spent cheating at golf at his New Jersey ex-wife cemetery. “one of the things we’re going to be talking about pretty soon are the uhhh tremendous drop in drug prices. you know, we’ve cut drug prices by twelve hundred, thirteen hundred, fourteen hundred, fifteen hundred percent. I don’t mean fifty percent. I mean fourteen, fifteen hundred percent.” oh dear, President Yap Yap is sundowning again. we talked about this at length yesterday, how Demented Donny’s nonsensical insistence that he’s going to cut drug prices by “fifteen hundred percent” is a mathematical impossibility. if you reduce the price of something by one hundred percent, you’ve made it free. you cannot reduce the price of anything by a number larger than one hundred percent, unless you’re suggesting that the vendor pay the customer to take the product off their hands. but did you notice in the clip above, Donny is no longer talking about how he’s going to lower drug prices. now, he’s already done it — “you know, we’ve cut drug prices.” magically, and overnight. you’re welcome. America’s Mad King has completely broken with reality and can no longer distinguish between fact and fantasy. words and numbers have completely lost their meaning. how fucking amazing would it be if some brave reporter stood up and said, ‘Mister President, I have a prescription that costs $100. how much will that be after you lower it by fifteen hundred percent?’ I would pay good money to watch Donny try to calculate the result in his big dumb pumpkin head. I don’t know what his answer to the reporter would be, but I’m sure it would include the words ‘nasty’ and ‘fake news.’

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

While bombing Iran is bad for Trump’s poll numbers, starting a war and creating chaos is good for Trump as an authoritarian. Authoritarians exploit chaos to claim emergency powers, deploy the military domestically, and undermine free and fair elections.

These attacks must be viewed from this lens.
