By popular demand, my first post is a collection of photos of the strip club across from my high school. For years, our anonymous poet laureate rained their blows of creativity on all who drove down South Walnut. We honor him here.

Zohran Mamdani’s win has inspired over 3400 young people to raise their hands to run for office just since Tuesday. It’s now @runforsomething.net’s biggest candidate recruitment moment since the election.

A new generation of leaders is here.

When you go out there, don’t march for the Democratic Party, a candidate, not your state, or even your constitution. March for your community, your neighbours, friends, family, yourself. You aren’t marching for political dominance but survival and security for those you love. You are defending.

Democratic politicians and liberal pundits bemoaning the LA protests need to understand that as *their* failure. None of this would be happening if they had offered effective resistance to mass deportation (extraordinary rendition, in truth) instead of considering undocumented people expendable.

We’ve mapped out a non-exhaustive list of people affiliated with DOGE, including creating a searchable table with each member, their corporate history, and the agencies they’ve been connected to. www.wired.com/story/elon-m...

to me the most disturbing fact about DOGE’s raid on the US Institute of Peace is that the local cops helped them.

Every allied country needs to:

1. Quietly limit tangible intelligence sharing with the US.
2. Divest from US imports and find trade alternatives.
3. Deny US IP and reproduce homegrown weapons systems (I.e. aircraft, AA, HIMARS).
4. Take maritime control, create new global defence naval force.

The Silicon Valley billionaires & techno-feudal lords who are waging a capitalists' coup right now are rebelling against the people & the "free market" for rejecting them & the tech they need us to become dependent on. They're taking over the government to ensure we have no more choice in the matter

The milquetoast reporting of the traditional media on the (gestures vaguely at the world, an active fire) has been the most heartbreaking, for me, an elder millennial who remembers having faith in and respect for American journalism as a check on power.
in which @oliverdarcy.bsky.social levels some extremely correct criticism of his old bosses at CNN (& the rest of the media) for failing to properly convey a tone of urgency in their Trump coverage

I've built a machine that can be Confidently Wrong. It can also make pictures that all look a bit the same, as well as make a video of you kissing any celebrity or person you know. In payment, I'd like to boil the world's oceans dry, & steal all literature. For some reason, my head is not on a spike

The full-scale invasion day 1,000th.

We owe everything we have to a Ukrainan soldier - who’s tired, unwilling, outnumbered, and outgunned, sensing grief and injustice - yet who keeps doing the terrible job every single day to save the world.
