BUKELE: How can I smuggle a terrorist into the United States? Of course I'm not going to do it. The question is preposterous

No truer words. Press conferences won't do it, protests in cities won't do it, NYT articles won't do it. Gotta go where they are.
Deeply sobering stuff from @schaller67.bsky.social about how hard it is for Dems to gain ground in rural areas:

If you’re a North Carolinian, you can check whether your name or the names of anyone you know is on the list of the 65K voters whose votes may be tossed. You could have an opportunity to fix it if so.

This is a big deal. Spread the word. But it’s tiny compared to the totality of what’s happening at NIH. Cure Research for all cancers, Alzheimer’s, everything is being gutted. Intentionally. It’s all getting burned to the ground but the news isn’t getting out. The new cures won’t be there for you.

Hardly important under the current world circumstances, but I have never before reached a level of HATE watching that I have reached with Yellowjackets. I am actively rooting for the death of all characters in both timelines. It is also leaking into seeing same actors in other projects.

Why is the GOP Congress not stopping the Trump Tariffs? Why is the GOP Congress letting Trump raise your prices and gut your 401K? Why is the GOP Congress giving Trump a "BLANK CHECK" for his Trump Tariffs? Where is the GOP Congress as Trump drives the economy and your pocket book into the ditch?
Good day to remember that a US President has no inherent power over tariffs whatsoever. It’s not like war powers or pardons. It’s entirely delegated by Congress to deal with emergencies. GOP Congress cld modify that law tonight and bring this to a screeching halt.

It’s Trans Day of Visibility.

Our trans friends, families and neighbors deserve safety, love and respect.

Fighting for democracy means fighting for their rights and standing against the MAGA onslaught against trans people.

We see you and we love you.

What pisses me off is I wish we just believed women without men's admissions and what pisses me off even MORE is, between Trump's Access Hollywood tape, Depp saying he wanted to kill Amber Heard/rape her corpse, & now this, so often men's admissions don't even matter to their supporters
EXCLUSIVE: Actor Jonathan Majors admits to strangling his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in newly unearthed audio.

“I've never [been] aggressive with a woman before. I've never aggressed a woman — I aggressed you.”

While I put 95% of this on Schumer, its seems both the House and Senate Dems put 100% of their planning on the House GOP will get stuck and then we serious. They had no off ramp to even getting a REAL clean CR for any amount of time. The ONLY off ramp now is to force GOP in Senate.
Congrats Chuck Schumer you have thoroughly misplayed the funding fight. You’ve done everything possible to take ownership of it, despite democrats having no levers in govt.

Are ya new?

I try not to think of Biden because his name makes my blood boil. Will NEVER forgive him or those around him. Stopping Trump or defending democracy was never his intention, he saw the opportunity to run against Trump as an easy path to getting and keeping the position he spent a lifetime wanting.
“But the day of the debate Biden called to give Harris an unusual kind of pep talk — and another reminder about the loyalty he demanded… ‘No daylight, kid,’ Biden said.”

The Republican Party is more or less built on reactionary opposition to the Democrats policies rather than their own actual policy ideas, and unfortunately the Democrats’ most recent policy was “having a strong economy”
The funniest thing about all this is Joe Biden built a "bring back US manufacturing" button and Trump could have just kept pressing it but instead he insisted on smashing the "crash the stock market" button

The weeks of performative “resistance” from those in my party were limited to undignified antics.

Voting to shut the government down will punish millions or risk a recession.

I disagree with many points in the CR, but I will never vote to shut our government down.

This, precisely, is what I think Dem voters want from their representatives: direct confrontation with people who are used to bullying others both as a matter of substance and style. You don't have to back down to these fucking clowns.

In every single interview I’ve done with international media since Trump took power I’ve been asked: Why are there no mass protests?

There are many reasons, of course, but the utter refusal of the self-proclaimed “fourth estate” to communicate clearly what is happening has to be high on the list.
No matter how preposterous, the Times headlines nearly every Trump story as if it were written by the White House comms team.

in the trump administration, “merit” is pronounced “white” like how strom thrumond said it.
Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story.

Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver.

This is what "merit" means to them.
