WV had a handful of pop-up food distribution sites this weekend in 5 of 55 counties, logistics provided by the WV National Guard. Food was donated by NGO food banks. It was entirely inadequate.

Here's a new thing. Friend from high school is a US Citizen, married to a US citizen, last name is easily mistaken as Chinese, getting several text messages over the course of hours fishing for confirmation identity and asking if she is returning to her home country soon. #ice #immigration

Wheeling, WV raised water rates by 38% Tues. due to DOGE cuts. Most of the elderly water systems in the tri-state (WV, PA, OH) area are already limping along due to lack of infrastructure funding. I imagine this will be happening nationwide soon. #doge #dogecuts

Ohio County WV, specifically the areas of Triadelphia and Valley Grove, were destroyed by flash flooding on June 14. 800+ homes and businesses were destroyed or damaged. Many had no flood insurance because they weren’t in a flood plain. Today is day 27 with no signed federal disaster declaration.
