Advocates condemn "regressive" bill that would recriminalize certain activities, like possession of marijuana from an unauthorized source; eliminate anti-discrimination protections for people legally using it; & restrict hemp sales.

this article features a single doctor, quoted extensively & a dude who started a reddit group because he felt like he was addicted to cannabis. also, the diagnosis is based on whether use "interferes" with daily life/health & for some of us, that's literally the point. give me interference, please.
Doctors say it's possible to get hooked on pot. There's a widespread misconception that marijuana is not addictive, and it's expanded as a growing number of states legalize pot.

So Bezos is in them too then?
The Washington Post editorial board decided the Epstein files have “no public interest” before even seeing them. That’s a stunning position for any newsroom to take. Praising Clay Higgins as the lone ‘no’ vote, too? No wonder no one trusts legacy media. Absolutely disgusting.

Her dad was taken by immigration agents. Now a 12-year-old girl fears she’s lost her only living parent.
The separation illustrates a tragic consequence of the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown: children left behind after a parent is detained or deported.

On the patently unlawful boat strikes

It's hard for USGs to claim ‘mistake of law’ or ‘advice of counsel’ – when they’re firing lawyers who wouldn't sign off on the strikes.

WaPo's new revelations on firings or removals:

1) CIA General Counsel
2) NSC Legal Adviser
3) CIA Mission Center’s lawyer

White House blew past legal concerns in deadly strikes on drug boats
The Trump administration sidestepped skeptical lawyers across national security agencies as it pursued a military campaign against alleged narcotraffickers, officials say.

Israel’s “yellow line” in 2025 isn’t new. As Salman Abu Sitta reminds us, Gaza has been repeatedly compressed: from 555 km² in 1950 to 365 km² under a “temporary” line that became permanent. Every new buffer zone continues the incremental erasure of Gaza’s already tiny land area.
