i've published some bad writing, some real try-hard and ignorant stuff, but i can't think of an editor i've had that wouldn't have barfed on my keyboard if i tried to get away with some of what the present day NYT not just prints but holds up

it's structural! people that buy houses, all of them, want housing prices to increase. am i wrong?
Private equity and foreign buyers are not the people gumming up the works at every city zoning meeting. That would be old hippies yelling about trees and Gen Xers who don't want multifamily buildings next door
Not a huge Derek Thompson fan but he's straightforwardly correct here. Financial institutions own a tiny percentage of US homes and generally rent them out rather than keeping them vacant. Preventing BlackRock from buying housing wouldn't do much to help affordability.

if i was a bank, and someone who owned a lot of crypto came to me wanting to borrow a lot of money, i would say no i don't loan to compulsive gamblers. to say nothing of this case where they want their crypto to vouch for them as a borrower
Mortgage behemoths Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are poised to start counting cryptocurrencies as assets for mortgage loan risk assessments, opening up a new, untested path to securing home financing — and inserting crypto into the housing market.
The Trump administration wants crypto to help you get a mortgage
A move by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac would open up a new, and untested, path to getting home loans in the midst of an affordability crisis.

for the sake of the dumbest voter in America, we should pursue a crypto policy that reduces to "make number go up at all costs." among other issues with this reasoning, i just have a hunch that this voter likes trump for other reasons too!
lol. You keep pushing responsibility to everywhere but you. If you are 25 and your networth is $250 and tied up in crypto and every time gary said something you lost money and every time trump did you made money, who you voting for ?

Lottery tickets expire. Crypto doesn’t.
