I am so fucking mad that knowing what /pol/, GamerGate, and the Dark Enlightenment are makes me genuinely informed on the policy making decisions of the federal government. These people weren't supposed to leave the computer!

As I’ve noted before, the press is unwilling to recognize that Musk and Vance are at the very least close to neo-Nazis because to do so would mean acknowledging that the press massively failed in promoting them for years
the vice president of the united states is a groyper who spends his online time following nazis and esoteric reactionary influencers is true and yet the press seems completely disinterested in it
If you listen to that last clip of the US VP doing the rounds, it does feel like some sort of analysis showing what these people are huffing on the regular is sorely missing from mainstream commentary

The desexualisation of media (everyone is beautiful, and no one is horny) combined with an increasing hysteria around the 'pointlessness' of sex scenes is a key part of the fascistization of western culture and if we're going to fight back we're going to need to make it normal to be horny again.

If you're worried that nonviolent games like #Wanderhome lack for tension and drama, here's the thing: the *characters* don't know that's a rule, and the *possibility* of violence makes for scenes that, it turns out, are even more tense ans dramatic than any swordfight. I'll give you an example (1/)

You dont love America, you love your community, the warmth of the human spirit, & the rich cultural exchange born of early 20th century immigrants. & that’s good. But That exists DESPITE Capitalism. & there is no America that’d exist without Capitalism. Because colonization begets capitalism.

It is an actual delusion to proclaim antifash patriotism for a nation built on the backs of the marginalized. We do the discourse of “this site was built from Black creators, trans creators, & sex workers & our needs are ignored now that the site’s popular” once a month & we cant connect that dot???
For example; you know how many of the best american recipes were invented by slaves, or immigrants, or only exist because of harvesting techniques Natives taught the white man? & these recipes couldve all existed in a land WITHOUT prejudice. But they don’t. & never will til the land is given back.

In indie rpgs back in the later 00s, a lot of us were exploring the idea of social conflict. One of the ways we approached it was by casting social engagements as sword fights, inspired by the metaphor of the "duel of wits." You had your thrusts, your parries, your ripostes, your cutting remarks...

You know what you need to do, right? Feed the hungry, house the homeless, clothe the naked, comfort the afflicted and afflict the “comfortable”. As much as you are able, in each moment. It can be as simple as donating fresh socks to the shelter, or giving time & $$ to help those in need. Just do it.

My post about Jennell Jaquays's legacy has been nominated. My original post appears in black text, beneath a post-script written in blue.

My post prompted a response from The Alexandrian; the ps reflects on his response.

every angry take I’ve seen about using technology to offload the work of being a human is correct, and I’ll just add: you learn things from art you don’t like and/or finish! you learn things, about yourself and about the world, even from experiences you don’t enjoy! friction is necessary for growth!
"Imagine a world in which an A.I. can analyze your reading patterns and alert you that you’re about to buy a book where there’s only a 10 percent chance you’ll get past Page 6..."

Fuck off. That's not empowerment, that's outsourcing your soul. That's outsouling.

Like I don't know gang, I think "Born This Way" was perhaps a historically necessary step, but we have ceded far too much ground to the idea that we are only this way because we don't have a choice.

If you gave me a choice to not be a trans dyke I'd spit blood in your face.

Conversion therapies and attempts to legislate us out of existence are barbaric, inhumane, and torturous practices. They are not wrote because I have an immutable unassailable essence of queerness, but because indoctrination and brainwashing and the limitations of my freedoms and rights are wrong.

This approach to queer identity seems to be drenched in the legal landscape of the US, ensuring civil right on the basis of innate or inborn characteristics.

And I'm telling you right now I don't give a shit if my tranny dykehood is innate or not. Choosing to be like me is not a fucking sin.
I don't think all of it is malicious, some scientists for good or bad are trying to prove gender identity is likely an inborn neuroanatomical quality.

I recommend people look up the concept of hyperobjects. global warming is an example of a hyperobject something that is too big for most people to hold completely in their minds at one time every part of it becomes overwhelming all at once.

project 2025 is meant to be a hyperobject
The fun thing about talking about these things is that the number of oppressed groups under attack right now makes it so difficult to encompass everything that's happening. trans people, anyone who can get pregnant, immigrants, disabled people, poor people, and more and more it's endless
