I'm in a tizzy getting ready for my first ever #2025SVP in the UK, and today I learn that next year it's in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. I can drive there, and stay with family. Irony.

Alright, this is coming together. Cranial nerves, amirite?
Inside view through the cut open back of the sheep skull, mostly through the frontal bone. Inside you can see the ethmoid, presphenoid, basisphenoid , and a lot of the partial. Various foramina are highlighted in pink, with the cranial nerves that pass through them listed.

I'm in the home stretch, only 4 cranial bones to paint, and the hyoid. I'm coming for you pterygoid, ethmoid, basisphenoid, and tympanic bulla!

I'm only 5 colors/bones done, but they were the big ones. I also made this little cradle for the mandible and hyoid. Time for a break

So it turns out that cutting a window into the back of a sheep's skull with a rotary tool is way tougher than I expected.
A lamb skull with an irregular portion of the bone removed. The back of the nasal turbinates, and the brain case are visible. So are all the uneven cutting marks.
