Fossil Preparator, currently at Virginia Tech. I can't post about most of the unpublished holotypes I'm working on (dang, that's a flex), but I do post about other odd projects.

I'm in a tizzy getting ready for my first ever #2025SVP in the UK, and today I learn that next year it's in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. I can drive there, and stay with family. Irony.

I haven't really had anything to talk about on social media for months, but hey, I'm probably actually going to get to go to SVP in Birmingham UK in November, so that's something.

Shout out to all of the faculty and students who made it through this semester in particular. What a time to be teaching and learning in spaces that are directly under attack from people who benefited from having access to the same resources themselves.

From 2022: Among the many fossils studied in this South African outcrop, clusters of four to eight Lystrosaurus fossils were found close together, their bodies spread-eagled, two of them preserving mummified skin.

Alright, this is coming together. Cranial nerves, amirite?
May 6, 2025 at 11:45 PM
The paint touchup is done, so all the cranial bones are IDd. Now after making a huge mess, time to mark all the cranial nerves with Pinkest Pink #culturehustle
May 6, 2025 at 8:41 PM
Finally done with coloring all the bones, but I'm too sleepy to go back over and detail. Tomorrow.
May 5, 2025 at 4:17 AM
I'm in the home stretch, only 4 cranial bones to paint, and the hyoid. I'm coming for you pterygoid, ethmoid, basisphenoid, and tympanic bulla!

I'm only 5 colors/bones done, but they were the big ones. I also made this little cradle for the mandible and hyoid. Time for a break
