If you wanna sound older than 6, then yes, capitalism and politics interact insidiously with popularity by manufacturing consent and providing perverse incentives for its reification. But that applies to stuff you like, so if it was actually what you were mad about, you’d be less annoying about it.

I don’t know how I didn’t see it til now. She’d been trying to tell me for years. But I didn’t, couldn’t…conceptualize myself as that. And then someone else helped me build on the groundwork she laid, and I carelessly spoke of that to her like it wouldn’t gouge her open.
