“What’s transpired over the last three or four days just takes it to a whole new level of cruelty and inhumanity and, frankly, a whole new level of stupidity in doing this is the most non-strategic way.” Tens of thousands of people will die as a result of this action.

"A whole new level of cruelty": Health experts decry "devastating" cuts to HIV treatment programs
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation said the latest cuts will deprive 350,000 people of HIV treatment.

Eternal shame for the Trump sycophants who support his disgraceful, deadly betrayal of democratic Ukraine to side with Putin. The blood is on their hands.

All this business I am reading about social security is nonsense. My mom died on 2/18. My dad got a letter yesterday informing him her benefits were ending and he had to repay the February payment because they don’t give a payment in the month someone dies. They know where every dollar is.

The fundamental choice has not been as stark since World War II: democracy and freedom, or dictatorship and tyranny.

Trump and his sycophants are siding with the latter. The rest of us must loudly, proudly, and boldly proclaim our allegiance to the former.

The savings on DOGE's "wall of receipts" keep shrinking every time they update it. It started at $16 billion. Now it's under $9 billion, as billionaire Elon Musk's outfit cleans up some obvious mistakes. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/03...

The same week that Elon Musk baselessly called Social Security a "Ponzi scheme," his co-president Donald Trump announced that he wants to create a national crypto reserve.

This could result in taxpayer dollars being used to prop up an actual Ponzi scheme.

We are firing Rangers at National Parks, scientists & aid workers that treat/prevent/research disease and feed the poor, & disabled vets helping fellow vets at VA hospitals, but the good news is we are going to buy a shit ton of crypto so Trump & his friends can make billions.

old Soviet joke for our times:

Guy stops by the newsstand every day, scans the front page, doesn’t buy the paper. One day the vendor asks what he’s up to.

Guy says: “looking for an obituary.”

Vendor says “those are towards the back of the paper, comrade.”

Guy says: “not the one I’m looking for.”

Not just a bad joke.

The T4 program killed 300,000 “undesirables” because Nazis saw them as “useless.” Today, Musk laughs about cutting aid to the “Parasite Class.” History shows what happens when we let the rich decide who deserves to live. Don’t look away.

And there it is. Putin’s lifelong dream. After years of relentless Russian propaganda, now fully embraced by the American president and the world’s richest oligarch, millions of Americans are convinced that this is a good plan because Europe is an enemy and Putin is our friend.

This is a bigger issue than people realize. Not just jobs lost. But their families losing benefits. Landlords losing tenants. Cities and towns losing revenue. This is how recessions start

Ready Fire Aim is no way to govern.
More accurate, fewer words;

"There are plenty of contractors going under".

A friend furloughed 75% of staff (furlough w/paying for health insurance for three months), 50% exec pay cut, 25% rest of staff to keep as many people w/salary.

PS: Wasn't 18F a government office, not a contractor.

A lot of people are going to die from this
First, they said postponed; now the meeting is canceled. That means no flu shots next year.

“'It’s a six-month production cycle,' Dr. Offit said. 'So one can only assume that we’re not picking flu strains this year.'"

Fundamentally, that's a form of mass murder.

F.D.A. Cancels Meeting of Vaccine Experts Scheduled to Advise on Flu Shots
The cancellation plays into fears among scientists who worry that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will use his position as health secretary to sow doubts about vaccines.

We are pushing up against Daniel Boorstin's ideas about governing by image.

They never engage there. They can actually talk to people here. And yes there are republicans and independents on here.

Many Republicans hate Toxicity too.
What are your thoughts on the Democrat Party adopting Blue Sky as one of their main channels of communication? It keeps Elon from being able to manipulate viewership and removes hate bots from posting BS from trigger words found in the corners of the internet.
